Erdling
Erdling (German for "Earthling") are a German rock band founded in 2014 by Neill Freiwald and Niklas Kahl. History After guitarist Neill Freiwald left the band Stahlmann and the side project Sündenklang at the end of 2014, ostensibly due to time constraints, drummer Niklas Kahl followed in spring 2015, who, according to his own statement, “couldn't increasingly identify with the band”. Together with guitarist Neno and bassist Marco, the first recordings began in the studio of Chris Harms. After Erdling was signed "surprisingly quickly" by Out of Line, according to Neill, they released their first maxi single Blitz und Donner in October 2015, followed by tours with Unzucht and Megaherz. In January 2016 Erdling released their debut album ''Aus den Tiefen'', in August of the same year they played for the first time at the M’era Luna Festival in Hildesheim. Out Of Line Music is an independent record label located in Berlin, Germany. Out of Line is distributed by Rough Trade (Believe Digital) and exclusive partner to publishing giant BMG Rights Management, through sister company Edition Layer Cake. Essen
Essen (; Latin: ''Assindia'') is the central and, after Dortmund, second-largest city of the Ruhr, the largest urban area in Germany. Megaherz
Megaherz (English "Mega-heart", a pun on the homophone " megahertz") is a German Neue Deutsche Härte band formed in Eichenau in 1993. Megaherz has gone through many changes in musical style since their founding. Their early works are a fairly dark alternative metal, comparable to 1990s American bands such as Faith No More, whereas recent works are comparable to bands such as Oomph! and Rammstein. Their early albums all include at least one song based on a classic German fairy tale, including " Hänschen klein" ("Little Hans") on '' Herzwerk'', "Rapunzel" on ''Kopfschuss'', "Windkind" ("Wind Child") on ''Himmelfahrt'', and "I.M Rumpelstilzchen" on ''Herzwerk II''. Hildesheim
Hildesheim (; nds, Hilmessen, Hilmssen; la, Hildesia) is a city in Lower Saxony, Germany with 101,693 inhabitants. It is in the district of Hildesheim, about southeast of Hanover on the banks of the Innerste River, a small tributary of the Leine River. The Holy Roman Emperor Louis the Pious founded the Bishopric of Hildesheim in 815 and created the first settlement with a chapel on the so called ''Domhügel''. Neue Deutsche Härte
Neue Deutsche Härte (; "new German hardness"), sometimes abbreviated as NDH, is a subgenre of rock music that developed in Germany and Austria during the early-to-mid 1990s and during the early 2000s. Alluding to the style of Neue Deutsche Welle, the term was coined by the music press after the 1995 release of the German rock and metal band Rammstein's first studio album ''Herzeleid''. Characteristics Neue Deutsche Härte describes a crossover style that is influenced by Neue Deutsche Welle, alternative metal and groove metal combining it with elements from electro-industrial and techno. The lyrics are generally in German. NDH uses the basic setup of instruments for metal: electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals, along with keyboard, synthesizers, samples and sometimes additional percussion. Stahlmann
Stahlmann ( "Steelman") is a German Neue Deutsche Härte band that formed in Göttingen in 2008. History Formation debut album (2008–2010) Martin Soer met Alexander Scharfe in 2008 and formed the band Stahlmann later that year, writing their own songs. Soon after Tobi B joined and in 2009, the debut EP ''Herzschlag'' was released which entered the top 20 of the Deutsche Alternative Charts for four weeks. Following ''Herzschlag'' Stahlmann performed with well-known artists such as Doro, In Extremo and Saltatio Mortis. Dirk "Fire-Abend" Feierabend and Oliver "O-Lee" Schmidt joined in 2009. Stahlmann went on a tour in 2010 presented by the music magazine Zillo. The single "Hass mich...lieb mich" and debut album ''Stahlmann'' were released in September 2010 on AFM Records.
