Eran Levi ( he, ערן לוי, born 4 August 1985) is an Israeli footballer who plays as a striker for Hapoel Ra'anana. Career Born in Or Akiva, Levi's professional career began with Maccabi Haifa, where he made his first-team debut in 2002, aged 17. He continued playing for Maccabi Haifa until the middle of 2004/05 season when he moved to Maccabi Tel Aviv for the rest of the season. In 2005, Levi played for Hapoel Kiryat Shmona, but he left in 2006 to play for Maccabi Netanya under the new management of Daniel Jammer and Eyal Berkovic. Levi left Maccabi Netanya after having disciplinary issues with head coach Eli Guttman. Later that year, he transferred to Hapoel Akko from the Liga Haleumit and signed a 2-year contract with Hapoel Haifa a year later. The Betar Movement ( he, תנועת בית"ר), also spelled Beitar (), is a Revisionist Zionist youth movement founded in 1923 in Riga, Latvia, by Vladimir (Ze'ev) Jabotinsky. The Israeli Premier League ( he, ליגת העל, ''Ligat Ha`Al'', ), is a professional association football league which operates as the highest division of the Israeli Football League – the state's league of Israel. The league is contested by 14 clubs, and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with its second division Liga Leumit. Liga Alef ( he, ליגה א', , League A) is the third tier of the Israeli football league system. It is divided into two regional divisions, north and south. History League football began in Israel in 1949–50, a year after the Israeli Declaration of Independence. However, the financial and security crises gripping the young nation caused the 1950–51 season to be abandoned before it had started. When football resumed in 1951–52, the new top division went by the name of Liga Alef. The 1952–53 season was also not played, and Liga Alef resumed in 1953–54. Liga Leumit ( he, ליגה לאומית, lit. ''National League'') is the second division of the Israeli Football League, and below its Premier League. Structure There are 16 clubs in the league. At the end of each season, the two lowest-placed teams are relegated to Liga Alef while the two highest-placed teams from Liga Alef are promoted in their place. The two highest-placed Liga Leumit teams are promoted to the Israeli Premier League while the bottom two teams from Israeli Premier League are relegated in their place. Eli Guttman
Israel "Eli" Guttman (or Gutman, he, אלי גוטמן; born 24 February 1958) is an Israeli former football player and manager who most recently managed Maccabi Haifa, before officially announcing his retirement from the football world, stating health issues as the main reason. Career Guttman was born in Israel, to a family of Ashkenazi Jewish descent. He started playing football as a teenager in the youth ranks of Hapoel Haifa but never managed to play for the senior team. He moved to play for Beitar Netanya in Liga Alef and later played in Liga Bet for Maccabi Neve Sha'anan and Maccabi Kiryat Bialik.
