Eram-e Sabz Metro Station
Eram-e Sabz Metro Station is a station in Tehran Metro Line 4 and Line 5. It is located north of Tehran-Karaj Freeway and Ekbatan. It is the western terminus of Line 4, next to Shahrak-e Ekbatan Metro Station and it is between Azadi Stadium Metro Station and Sadeghieh (Tehran) Metro Station on Line 5. Ekbatan
Ekbatan Town ( fa, شهرک اکباتان, ) is a planned town in western Tehran, Iran. It is located approximately five kilometers west of central Tehran. Etymology The town is named after Ecbatana, the capital city of the ancient Median Empire around 700 BC. It was the first capital of ancient Iranians to be established in Western Asia, and is the ancestor of the modern city of Hamedan. The word ''Ekbātān'' is a variant of ''Ecbatana'' ( el, Εκβάτανα ) which derives from Old Persian ''Haŋgmetana'', meaning "place of gathering". Freeway 2 in Iran consists of two separate sections, one in northwestern Iran and one in northeastern Iran. Western Section The western section of Freeway 2 runs from the capital city Tehran to Tabriz in northwestern Iran. This freeway is an important transit road that connects Iran's industrial zones to Tabriz and Turkey. The section between Tehran and Karaj is one of the busiest sections in Iran with AADT of 217084. The Tehran Metro ( fa, مترو تهران, translit=Metro-ye Tehrān) is a rapid transit system serving Tehran, the capital of Iran. It is the largest metro system in the Middle East. The system is owned and operated by Tehran Urban and Suburban Railway. It consists of six operational metro lines (and an additional commuter rail line), with construction under way on three lines including west extension of line 4, line 6 and north and east extension line 7. Tehran Metro Line 4
Line 4 is one of several lines of the Tehran Metro. The line is with 19 main stations, 3 stations along a domestic airport-serving branch line and a terminal (depôt). Its section 1, from Ferdowsi Square to Darvazeh Shemiran, opened in April 2008. Section 2 from Darvazeh shemiran to Shohada Square opened in February 2009. Three months later Section 3 from Ferdowsi Square to Engelab Square opened. On July 23, 2012 two more stations were inaugurated, connecting line 4 with line 5. Cross Platform Interchange
A cross-platform interchange is a type of interchange between different lines at a metro (or other railway) station. The term originates with the London Underground; such layouts exist in other networks but are not commonly so named. In the United States, it is often referred to as a cross-platform transfer. This configuration occurs at a station with island platforms, with a single platform in between the tracks allocated to two directions of travel, or two side platforms between the tracks, connected by level corridors. The benefit of this design is that passengers do not need to use stairs to another platform level for transfer.
