Equestrian At The 2024 Summer Olympics – Team Eventing
The team eventing event at the 2024 Summer Olympics took place from 27 to 29 July 2024 at the Palace of Versailles. Like all other equestrian events, the eventing competition is open-gender, with both male and female athletes competing in the same division. 48 riders (16 teams of 3) from 16 nations took part. Background This was the 26th appearance of the event, which has been held at every Summer Olympics since it was introduced in 1912. The reigning Olympic champions were Great Britain. with World individual champion Rosalind Canter joining Tom McEwen and Laura Collett from the 2020 team. Qualification Competition format The eventing competition features all 48 riders competing in three rounds (dressage, cross-country, and jumping). Dressage ( or ; a French term, most commonly translated to mean "training") is a form of horse riding performed in exhibition and competition, as well as an art sometimes pursued solely for the sake of mastery. As an equestrian sport defined by the International Equestrian Federation, dressage is described as "the highest expression of horse training" where "horse and rider are expected to perform from memory a series of predetermined movements." Felix Vogg
Felix Vogg (born 19 June 1990) is a Swiss Olympic eventing rider. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Vogg also participated 2014, 2018 and 2022at the World Equestrian Games. 2013, 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2023 he competed at the European Eventing Championships. Clarke Johnstone
Clarke Johnstone (born 26 April 1987) is a New Zealand equestrian, competing in eventing. Johnstone was born in 1987 in Dunedin and grew up on a farm in Otago. From 2000 to 2004, he attended John McGlashan College in Dunedin. In 2008, he obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago.
