Equestrian At The 2018 Asian Games
Equestrian at the 2018 Asian Games was held at the Jakarta International Equestrian Park, Jakarta, Indonesia, from 20 to 30 August 2018. There were three equestrian disciplines: dressage, eventing and jumping. All three disciplines are further divided into individual and team contests for a total of six events. Jakarta International Equestrian Park
Jakarta International Equestrian Park or JIEP ( id, Pacuan Kuda Pulomas) is an equestrian sport venue located at Kayu Putih, Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta, Indonesia. After renovation, the arena was inaugurated on 2 August 2018. This arena was used as a venue for 2018 Asian Games. It has land area of 35-hectares with a main four-story pavilion of 1500 seating capacity, two-storied 156 capacity horse stables, athletes lodging, an animal hospital, and training places. The park is disable friendly, which has secured international certification from World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) in Paris and from the European Union. Fouaad Mirza
Fouaad Mirza (born 6 March 1992) is an Indian equestrian who won silver medals in both individual eventing and team eventing at the 2018 Asian Games. He became the first Indian since 1982 to win a medal at an individual equestrian event at the Asian Games. Mirza qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics, becoming the first Indian equestrian since Imtiaz Anees (2000) to participate at the Games. Early life Fouaad Mirza was born in Bangalore, India. His father, Dr Hasneyn Mirza, is one of India's top equine veterinarians and is a sixth generation horseman himself (being the great-grandson of Mirza Ismail and the great-great-great grandson of Agha Aly Asker). Yoshiaki Oiwa
is a Japanese equestrian. "Yoshi", as he is known, began riding as a junior high school student and took up eventing at University. In 2001 Yoshi he moved to the UK in order to pursue eventing trained by Andrew Hoy and in 2009 he moved to Germany. He now trains with German rider Dirk Schrade. He earned Best Equestrian Athlete; award at the Japanese sports awards in 2005, ’07 and ‘11. Yoshi comes from a family of Olympians; his aunt was an international figure skater and is now an Olympic judge and his uncle won a silver medal in swimming at the Rome Olympic Games. Kim Kyun-sub (born 18 September 1981) is a South Korean equestrian athlete. He is a double team gold medallist at the 2010 Asian Games and at the 2014 Asian Games, competing in dressage for South Korea.
