Equestrian At The 2015 Pan American Games – Individual Eventing
The individual eventing competition of the equestrian events at the 2015 Pan American Games took place July 17–19 at the Caledon Equestrian Park. The cross-country portion of eventing took place at nearby Will O' Wind Farm (Pan Am Cross-Country Centre), which is located in Mono. The eventers complete a 3-star level dressage test, stadium, and cross-country course. Eventing consisted of three phases: dressage, cross-country, and show-jumping. Scores from each phase were converted into penalty points, which were summed to give a score. For each rider, the best three scores in each phase counted towards the final score. In the dressage portion, the pair performed in front of three judges. The judges gave marks of between 0 and 10 for each of ten required elements; the scores for the judges were averaged to give a score between 0 and 100. Caledon Equestrian Park
The Caledon Equestrian Park is a current equestrian facility in Caledon, Ontario, Canada and was used for the 2015 Pan American Games. The facility's renovations were completed in 2014, one year before the games start. The stadium is planned to have 4,000 seats. The venue was officially named the equestrian venue for the 2015 Pan American Games on May 19, 2012. The renovations brings many changes to the facility including a new stadium, permanent and temporary seating for the games, a new grand prix arena, training facilities, an indoor training facility among others. During the games every portion of the equestrian event besides the cross-country portion of the eventing competition will be held at the venue. Phillip Peter Dutton, OAM (born 13 September 1963) is an Australian-born Olympic-level equestrian rider competing in eventing for the United States of America. He is a dual Olympic gold medalist who formerly competed for his country of birth but now competes for the USA. Biography Dutton was born in Nyngan and was educated at Newington College (1976–1979). Colleen Loach (born April 10, 1983) is a Canadian equestrian who competes in the sport of eventing. Loach won a bronze medal as part of the Canadian eventing team at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. In July 2016, she was named to Canada's Olympic team. Lauren Kieffer
Lauren Nicholson (née Kieffer; born June 6, 1987) is an American equestrian who competes in eventing. As the leading USA rider in the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event CCI, she won the Pinnacle Cup Trophy in 2014 and again in 2016, both times riding the Dutch Warmblood mare Veronica with whom she has been paired since 2013. Nicholson was a member of the gold medal-winning US eventing team at the 2015 Pan American Games, riding Meadowbrook's Scarlett.
