''Epoca'' (Italian: ''Age'') was an Italian illustrated weekly current events magazine published between 1950 and 1997 in Milan, Italy. History and profile ''Epoca'' was first published on 14 October 1950. The magazine was modeled on ''Life'' and ''Paris Match''. The magazine was part of Mondadori and was based in Milan. Its first editor was Alberto Mondadori who was succeeded in the post by Enzo Biagi in 1953. During the period until 1960 when Enzo Biagi edited ''Epoca'' the magazine covered current affairs news, social attitudes as well as TV news. The magazine also included frequent and detailed articles about Hollywood stars of the period and Italian movie stars such as Gina Lollobrigida. The weekly had offices in New York City, Paris and Tokyo. From June 1952 to the late 1958 the Cuban-Italian writer Alba de Céspedes wrote an agony column, called Dalla parte di lei, in the magazine. ''La Epoca'' was a liberal weekly newspaper that operated in Guatemala for four months in 1988. In June, its offices were firebombed, and its senior staff fled the country. The office of ''La Epoca'' was destroyed by Guatemalan government backed terrorists for their criticism of the government. One year after the firebombing, ''La Epoca'' journalist Julio Godoy wrote of the U.S. support of the Guatemalan government: :"while the Moscow imposed government in Prague would degrade and humiliate reformers, the Washington made government in Guatemala would kill them. ''La Epoca'' (Ladino: ''The Era'') was a Ladino language newspaper published between 1875 and 1911 in Thessaloniki, Ottoman Empire. Published nearly for forty years it was the leading Ladino publication in the Empire and first Ladino newspaper in Thessaloniki. History and profile ''La Epoca'' was launched by Sadi Levy in 1875, and the first issue appeared on 1 November that year. He also served as the publisher and editor-in-chief of the paper until 1888. He also published a French language newspaper entitled '' Le Journal de Salonique''.
