Episode 1102
"Episode 1102" is the fiftieth episode of the twenty-third series of the British medical drama television series ''Holby City'', and the 1102nd episode of the overall series. It is also ''Holby City's'' final ever episode after the show was cancelled by the BBC. The episode was written by Joe Ainsworth and directed by David Innes Edwards, and premiered on BBC One on 29 March 2022. The show's production team promised fans they would create an ending "it deserves" and began rewriting stories. The writers were used to scripting the show as a continuing drama but the show's end meant they could create closure for all featured characters. Producers were loath to introduce dramatic stunts or explosions in the finale. Holby City
''Holby City'' (stylised on-screen as HOLBY CIY) is a British medical drama television series that aired weekly on BBC One. It was created by Tony McHale and Mal Young as a spin-off from the established BBC medical drama ''Casualty'', and premiered on 12 January 1999; the show ran until 29 March 2022. It follows the lives of medical and ancillary staff at the fictional Holby City Hospital, the same hospital as ''Casualty'', in the fictional city of Holby, and features occasional crossovers of characters and plots with both ''Casualty'' (which include dedicated episodes broadcast as ''Casualty@Holby City'') and the show's 2007 police procedural spin-off ''HolbyBlue''. The twenty-third and final series of the British medical drama television series ''Holby City'' began airing on BBC One in the United Kingdom on 6 April 2021. The series consists of 50 episodes, which focuses on the professional and personal lives of medical and ancillary staff at the fictional Holby City Hospital. Seán Gleeson serves as the series producer. A new theme tune was introduced in the series, but was negatively received from viewers. As the series was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic, it had to comply with safety protocols, including social distancing and reduced people on-set. Belinda Owusu (born 19 April 1989) is an English actress, known for her roles as Libby Fox in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'' and Nicky McKendrick in BBC medical drama series ''Holby City''. Early and personal life Owusu was born on 19 April 1989 in Hackney, London. She is of Ghanaian and English descent. Nicky McKendrick
Nicky McKendrick is a fictional character from the BBC medical drama ''Holby City'', played by actress Belinda Owusu. She first appeared in the series nineteen episode "We Need to Talk About Fredrik", broadcast on 12 December 2017. Nicky arrives at Holby City hospital to work as a trainee doctor ( F1). A stroke is a medical condition in which poor blood flow to the brain causes cell death. There are two main types of stroke: ischemic, due to lack of blood flow, and hemorrhagic, due to bleeding. Marcel is known for her role as Jac Naylor, consultant cardiothoracic surgeon lead in the BBC drama series ''Holby City'', a role she has also played in sister series ''Casualty''.
