Plot One of the country's youngest and most influential freedom fighters ever, Kanaklata became a martyr of Indian freedom struggle at the tender age of just 14 years, on 20 September 1942. She was shot dead by the British while she was attempting to hoist the Indian national flag. Recently, a function was held to mark the death anniversary of Birangana Kanaklata at the Guwahati Press Club, wherein the bilingual films in Assamese and Hindi, depicting the life and sacrifice of this outstanding symbol of resistance, entitled ‘'' Epah Phulil Epah Soril''’ and ‘Purab Ki Awaz’ respectively, now in their post production stages, were announced, amidst an august gathering. Urmila Mahanta
Urmila Mahanta is an Indian actress. A student of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, Mahanta appeared in various plays, short films and television series, before making her feature film debut in the critically acclaimed 2012 Tamil crime thriller ''Vazhakku Enn 18/9''. She has acted in Hindi, Assamese, Bengali and Malayalam films. Early and personal life Mahanta was born to Giridhar Mahanta and Ramala Mahanta in Sonapur, Assam; she has three siblings- Jutika Mahanta, Munmi Mahanta and Munindra Mahanta. Mahanta did her entire schooling in Sonapur and later graduated from Dimoria College in Khetri, Kamrup. Nipon Goswami
Nipon Goswami (3 September 1942 – 27 October 2022) was an Indian actor and theatre artist associated with Assamese language, Assamese-language films. He was one of the veteran actors of Assamese Film Industry. He started his acting career as a stage actor and later established himself as a film actor. Personal life Goswami was born on 3 September 1942 at Kolibari in Tezpur, Assam. His father Chandradhar Goswami was a famous actor and his mother Nirupama Goswami was a singer. He did his primary schooling at Kolibari LP School. After that, he moved to Tezpur Govt. HS School. He died after suffering from heart-related ailments on 27 October 2022, at the age of 80. Kanaklata Barua (Assamese : কনকলতা বৰুৱা ; 22 December 1924 – 20 September 1942), also called Birbala and Shaheed (martyr), was an Indian independence activist and AISF leader who was shot dead by the Indian Imperial Police of the British Raj while leading a procession bearing the National Flag during the Quit India Movement of 1942.
