"Envious" is the debut solo single by Contemporary R&B, R&B singer-songwriter Dawn Robinson. (All Robinson’s previous singles had been recorded and released during her membership in En Vogue and Lucy Pearl.) The song was written Robinson, Kowan "Q" Paul, Milton Davis, and Amber Jade Young, produced by Kowan Paul. The song was composed for Robinson's debut solo album, ''Dawn (Dawn Robinson album), Dawn''. Atlantic Records released "Envious" on November 20, 2001, as the album's lead single. Music video The music video opens with Dawn in a dark area with a small crowd of people around her she sings the first verse to them. As the chorus starts the lights come on and it shows thousands of people around Dawn. The people stand and join hands to make a tunnel which Dawn crawls through as she sings the second verse. Dawn Sherrese Robinson (born November 24, 1966 or 1968) is an American singer best known as a founding member of the R&B/pop group En Vogue, one of the world's best-selling girl groups of all time. Following her departure from En Vogue, Robinson joined Lucy Pearl and released their self-titled debut album ''Lucy Pearl'' in 2000, which went platinum worldwide and produced the successful singles " Dance Tonight" and " Don't Mess with My Man". "Firm Biz" is the first and only single by the hip hop supergroup The Firm from their singular collaborative LP '' The Album''. The song was produced by L.E.S, who based the song's track on a sample of Teena Marie's 1981 hit "Square Biz". "Firm Biz" also features a chorus performed by former En Vogue singer Dawn Robinson, reworked from the "Square Biz" chorus. AZ raps the first verse of the song, Nas the second, and Foxy Brown the third and final verse. The song did not reach any US chart positions, but was a UK top 20 hit in 1997. Lucy Pearl was an American R&B supergroup formed in 1999. The group was composed of Raphael Saadiq (formerly of Tony! Toni!
