''Entertainment USA'' was a British television series broadcast by the BBC. It was first shown on BBC2 in 1983, ran for eight years and was devised and presented by Jonathan King. The show presented entertainment news, clips, interviews and music from the United States to a British audience. It was produced by Michael Hurll and directed by Gordon Elsbury. It was nominated for a BAFTA award as Best Light Entertainment Programme in 1987. It had an audience peak of 9.7 million. Each series was repeated later in the year, updated with new music video clips and movie trailers. Jonathan King
Jonathan King (born Kenneth George King; 6 December 1944) is an English singer, songwriter and record producer. He first came to prominence in 1965 when "Everyone's Gone to the Moon", a song that he wrote and sang while still an undergraduate, achieved chart success. As an independent producer, he discovered and named the rock band Genesis in 1967, producing their first album '' From Genesis to Revelation''. He founded his own label UK Records in 1972. He released and produced songs for 10cc and the Bay City Rollers. BBC Two is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network owned and operated by the BBC. Michael Hurll
Michael Hurll (7 October 1936 – 18 September 2012) was a British television producer who specialized in the comedy and light entertainment genres. He produced many British TV shows including ''The Two Ronnies'', ''Top of the Pops ''Top of the Pops'' (''TOTP'') is a British Record chart, music chart television programme, made by the BBC and originally broadcast weekly between 1January 1964 and 30 July 2006. The Montreux Jazz Festival (formerly Festival de Jazz Montreux and Festival International de Jazz Montreux) is a music festival in Switzerland, held annually in early July in Montreux on the Lake Geneva shoreline.
