Enrique Perea Quintanilla
Enrique Perea Quintanilla (1956 – August 9, 2006) was a Mexican journalist, veteran crime reporter, and founder of the magazine ''Dos Caras, Una Verdad'' ("Two Sides, One Truth"), a monthly investigative magazine specializing in reporting homicides and drug trafficking activities in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. He had 20 years of experience as an investigative journalist and crime reporter, and worked for two local newspapers before deciding to create his own in 2005. His work encompassed a series of investigative reports on drug-related murders, political corruption, and the local drug trade. In an apparent reprisal for his work, Perea Quintanilla was abducted and killed by alleged drug traffickers in August 2006 in Chihuahua. The crime remains unsolved. Juan Aldama, Chihuahua
Aldama is a city and seat of the municipality of Aldama in the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua. As of 2020, the city had a population of 22,568 inhabitants. Armando Rodríguez, born José Armando Rodríguez Carreón and also known as "El Choco", ( – 13 November 2008), was a Mexican journalist who covered the crime beat for ''El Diario de Juárez'' in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico and was murdered at his residence. He was known for his investigative journalism and reporting on crime, including the Juárez murders, and his death was acknowledged by the Board of the Investigative Reporters & Editors in an official statement that condemned his murder. The Juárez Cartel (Spanish: ''Cártel de Juárez''), also known as the Vicente Carrillo Fuentes Organization, is a Mexican drug cartel based in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, across the Mexico—U.S. border from El Paso, Texas. Roberto Marcos García (1956 – 21 November 2006) was a Mexican journalist, crime reporter, and deputy editor for ''Testimonio'', a crime-beat magazine based in the port city of Veracruz, Veracruz. He was also a local correspondent in Veracruz for the Mexico City weekly publication ''Alarma'' for over a decade.
