Enrique García Ojeda
Enrique García Ojeda (born January 21, 1972 in Los Corrales de Buelna, Cantabria) is a Spanish rally driver, who won the 2007 Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC). A regular competitor in Spanish rallies, including Rally Catalunya, Ojeda entered rounds of the first season of the IRC in 2006 as a Peugeot Sport España driver, in a Peugeot 206 S1600, with a best finish of seventh on the Ypres Rally. In 2007, Peugeot Sport España began running the Peugeot 207 S2000, which Ojeda drove to five podium finishes in the seven rounds he started, scoring points on all seven. Despite not winning an event, he was able to beat teammate Nicolas Vouilloz and the Abarth drivers to the title. Kronos Racing and Peugeot Bel-Lux took over the running of the 207 S2000s in 2008, meaning Ojeda and Peugeot Sport España only entered two rounds, finishing fourth on Rally Príncipe de Asturias. 2006 Intercontinental Rally Challenge Season
The 2006 International Rally Challenge was the inaugural season of the rallying series, which was renamed to the Intercontinental Rally Challenge for 2007 onwards. The season consisted of four rounds and began on May 26, with the Zulu Rally South Africa. The season ended on September 16 with the Rally Sanremo. Giandomenico Basso won the title with Fiat Grande Punto Abarth S2000 ahead of Alister McRae and Paolo Andreucci. Rallye International Du Valais
The Rallye International du Valais is a yearly rally in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. It was founded by Philippe Simonetta, a local wine dealer in 1960. Since 1980 it has been part of the European Rally Championship and in 2007 and 2008 it was an event of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge. The Barum Czech Rally Zlín (also called Barum Rallye and Barum Rally Zlín), is a tarmac rally held in Zlín, Czech Republic. It is currently part of the European Rally Championship and previously has been part of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge. Founded in 1971, it has been a round of the Czechoslovakia Rally Championship in its earliest days. It would later become a round of the Mitropa Cup, the Alpe Adria Rally Cup and since 1984, the European Rally Championship. The Austrian Rally Championship would later take in the event. The Rally of Turkey (also known as Anatolian Rally) is a rally competition on the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) schedule. Rallye Sanremo is a rally competition held in Sanremo, Italy. Except for the 1995 event, the event was part of the FIA World Rally Championship schedule from the 1973 season to the 2003 season.
