Enoch Baldwin
Enoch Baldwin (5 August 1822 – 1905) was an English iron founder and Liberal Party (UK), Liberal politician who sat in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, House of Commons from 1880 to 1885. Baldwin was the son of Enoch Baldwin, iron founder of Stourport-on-Severn, whose brother was George Pearce Baldwin. Iron Founder
An iron founder (also iron-founder or ironfounder) in its more general sense is a worker in molten ferrous metal, generally working within an iron foundry. However, the term 'iron founder' is usually reserved for the owner or manager of an iron foundry, a person also known in Victorian England as a 'master'. Workers in a foundry are generically described as 'foundrymen'; however, the various craftsmen working in foundries, such as moulders and pattern makers, are often referred to by their specific trades. Historically the appellation "founder" was given to the supervisor of a blast furnace, and persons who made castings in iron or other heavy metal. Sir Edmund Anthony Harley Lechmere, 3rd Baronet (8 December 1826 – 18 December 1894) was a British Conservative Party (UK), Conservative Party politician who sat in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, House of Commons between 1866 and 1895. He was a pioneer of the Red Cross. Lechmere was the son of Sir Edmund Hungerford Lechmere, 2nd Baronet of Hanley Castle, Worcestershire and his wife Maria Clara Murray, daughter of Hon. David Murray, brother of Alexander Murray, 7th Lord Elibank. He was educated at Charterhouse School and Christ Church, Oxford. In 1852 he inherited the Lechmere baronets, baronetcy on the death of his father. He was a senior partner in the Worcester Old Bank. In 1862 he was High Sheriff of Worcestershire. Alfred Baldwin (4 June 1841 – 13 February 1908) was an English businessman and Conservative Party (UK), Conservative Party Member of Parliament (United Kingdom), Member of Parliament (MP). He was the father of Stanley Baldwin, the Conservative Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Prime Minister. Baldwin was the 12th and posthumously born child of George Pearce Baldwin and Sarah Chalkley Stanley. He started work at the Wilden Ironworks, Wilden Iron and Tin Plate Company at Wilden, Worcestershire, Wilden (near Stourport, Worcestershire), which, in 1840, had been taken over by his uncle Enoch Baldwin, who ran the business with his nephews, Pearce and William, trading as ''E.P.& W. Baldwin of Wilden''. In 1879, Alfred and his brothers dissolved the partnership. Worcestershire ( , ; written abbreviation: Worcs) is a county in the West Midlands of England. The area that is now Worcestershire was absorbed into the unified Kingdom of England in 927, at which time it was constituted as a county (see History of Worcestershire).
