John Ennis is an American actor and comedian. Ennis was a cast member on Netflix's ''W/ Bob & David'' and on HBO's ''Mr. Show with Bob and David''. Other roles include '' Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story'', ''Zodiac'', and the revival of ''Twin Peaks''. Career Ennis has played roles in ''Malcolm in the Middle'', ''Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny'', and '' Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story''. John Wayne Ennis (born October 17, 1979) is an American former professional baseball right-handed relief pitcher. Ennis made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut on April 10, , with the Atlanta Braves. Ennis pitched 4 innings in his first MLB game; however, that one appearance was his only appearance for the Braves. He pitched 16 innings in 12 appearances for the Detroit Tigers in , posting an 8.44 ERA. Ennis made his Philadelphia Phillies debut on August 26, , pitching three innings and getting his first career save. He was designated for assignment by the Phillies on February 26, . John Wellington Ennis (born February 21, 1973 in Los Angeles, California) is an American filmmaker, activist, and blogger. In 2004, he directed a film starring Amy Poehler and the Upright Citizens Brigade titled ''Wild Girls Gone''. He is the co-founder of Video the Vote, a non-partisan group interested in documenting problems at U.S. polls. Sir John Ennis, 1st Baronet
Sir John Ennis, 1st Baronet (1800 – 8 August 1878) was an Irish Independent Irish and Liberal politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1857 to 1865, and was Governor of the Bank of Ireland. Ennis was born in Dublin, the only son of Andrew Ennis and Mary McManus, and baptised 31 August 1800 at the Catholic Church of Saints Michael and John. He was educated at Stonyhurst Roman Catholic College. In 1857, Ennis was elected Member of Parliament for Athlone for the Irish Independent Party. In 1859, he was re-elected as a Liberal and held the seat until 1865. Ennis was created a baronet in 1866. He lived at Ballinahown Court, Athlone. In the 1870s, he owned estates of in Westmeath, in County Dublin and in Roscommon. He died at the age of 69 Ennis married Anna Maria Henry, daughter of David Henry of Dublin. Sir John Ennis, 2nd Baronet
Sir John James Ennis, 2nd Baronet (6 April 1842 – 28 May 1884) was an Irish Liberal politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1868 and 1874. Ennis was born at Ballinahown Court, Athlone, the only son of Sir John Ennis, 1st Baronet and his wife, Anna Maria Henry, daughter of David Henry of Dublin. He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford. He was a J.P. and Deputy Lieutenant and was High Sheriff of Westmeath in 1866. At the 1868 general election Ennis was elected Member of Parliament for Athlone. In 1874, he and Edward Sheil received an equal number of votes but after scrutiny the decision was made in favour of Sheil by five votes. In 1880, Ennis regained the seat and held it until he died in 1884. Ennis inherited the baronetcy in 1878. John Ennis (born 1953) is an American painter. Ennis is a portrait painter and former book-cover illustrator; his paintings currently hang in over 100 fine art collections worldwide. He has over a thousand published book cover illustrations to his credit. Background He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art, and studied painting at the Art Students League of New York under Jack Faragasso and Robert Emil Shulz and privately with Michael Aviano, all former students of Frank J. Reilly. John Ennis (poet)
John Ennis is an Irish poet born in Westmeath in 1944. Life He retired as head of the School of Humanities at Waterford Institute of Technology in 2009 and now divides his time between Waterford and Westmeath. He is a graduate of University College Cork and University College Dublin. He won the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Award in 1975, the Listowel Open Poetry Competition eleven times, and the Irish American Cultural Institute Award in 1996. He has been editor of Poetry Ireland Review and served on the board of Poetry Ireland for eleven years. From 2003 to 2007, he co-edited three anthologies of Canadian – Irish Poetry. In 2008, Memorial University awarded him an Honorary Doctorate in Laws for fostering links between Ireland and Newfoundland, and for his poetry.
