Enneüs Heerma
Enneüs "Inne" Heerma (23 December 1944 – 1 March 1999) was a Dutch politician of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) party and management consultant. Heerma applied at the Free University Amsterdam in July 1963 majoring in Political science and obtaining an Bachelor of Social Science degree in June 1965 before graduating with an Master of Social Science degree in July 1970. Heerma worked as a management consultant in Amsterdam from January 1971 until September 1978. Heerma served on the Municipal Council of Amsterdam from March 1971 until July 1986 and served as an Alderman in Amsterdam from September 1978 until July 1986. Heerma served as acting Mayor of Amsterdam from 1 June 1983 until 16 June 1983 following the retirement of Wim Polak. The Leader of the Christian Democratic Appeal is the most senior politician within the Christian Democratic Appeal ( nl, Christen-Democratisch Appèl, CDA) in the Netherlands.The current leader has been Wopke Hoekstra since 10 December 2020. History The leaders outwardly act as the figurehead and the main representative of the party. Within the party, they must ensure political consensus. At election time the Leader is always the ''lijsttrekker'' (top candidate) of the party list. Outside election time the officeholder can serve as the Leader of the Opposition. In the Netherlands, the municipal council (Dutch: ''gemeenteraad'') is the elected assembly of the municipality. Its main role is laying down the guidelines for the policy of the municipal executive and exercising control over its execution by the mayor and aldermen. The municipal councils range in size from nine to 45 seats, depending on the municipality's population, and are elected by the population every four years. Pieter Enneüs Heerma (born 5 August 1977, Amsterdam) is a Dutch politician. As a member of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) he has been a member of the House of Representatives since 20 September 2012. Biography From 1999 tot 2001 Heerma was a student assistant at Amsterdam School of Communication Research/ASCoR of the University of Amsterdam and the NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies researching the Srebrenica massacre. From 2002 to 2011 he was spokesman, press officer and head of press information of the CDA fraction in the House of Representatives.
