The Enid Outlaws are an American professional basketball team based in Enid, Oklahoma, and a member of The Basketball League (TBL). For the 2021 season, their home games are played at Stride Bank Center in Enid. History On August 18, 2020, Evelyn Magley, CEO of The Basketball League (TBL), announced a new franchise called the Enid Outlaws owned by Jonathan Reed would be located in Enid, Oklahoma.The franchise will be part of a Southwest Division with the Dallas Skyline, Lewisville Leopards, and Little Rock Lightning. The team's owner has operated the Oklahoma Outlaws team that has been around for several years and a member of the semi-professional Universal Basketball Association. At a press conference at the Stride Bank Center, it was announced that Brian Jamison would serve as the team's general manager and Jonathan Reed as president. Stride Bank Center
The Stride Bank Center is an arena in downtown Enid, Oklahoma. About Arena construction began May 2011. It opened on June 15, 2013 with the Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce Business Expo. The building was designed by Convergence Design and constructed by Key Construction as part of the Enid Renaissance project, a $24 million project which includes the renovation of Convention Hall and the addition of 1,100 additional parking spaces in the downtown area. The former Geronimo Motor Company building is one of a few buildings that was torn down for parking accommodations. Oklahoma Storm
The Oklahoma Storm was a United States Basketball League (USBL) team in Enid, Oklahoma. Founded by sports agent and attorney James Sears Bryant, the Storm successfully captured the USBL championship under head coach Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 2002, defeating Kansas with a final score of 122–109. The team played its home games at Mark Price Arena and the Chisholm Trail Expo Center. United States Basketball League
The United States Basketball League (USBL) was a professional men's spring basketball league. The league was formed in 1985 and ceased operations in 2008. The USBL started in 1985 as one of the first basketball leagues to play a late-spring to early-summer schedule. The league quickly became known as a development league for players, with many players moving up to the National Basketball Association, NBA and many more playing in Europe after stints here. In 1996, the league made a stock offering, a rarity among sports leagues. However, in later years, the league declined as rival leagues appeared and USBL had a tougher time replacing teams that folded.
