Enhanced Combat Helmet (Australia)
The Enhanced Combat Helmet (ECH) was the standard issue combat helmet of the Australian Defence Force, introduced in 2004 to replace the M91 helmet, an Australian version of the American PASGT helmet, it was replaced by the Team Wendy EXFIL Ballistic helmet from 2015 Design The ECH is manufactured by Israeli company Rabintex, and was selected in a competition between four rival designs. It is the same shape as the U.S Modular Integrated Communications Helmet, MICH 2000 helmet, but is lighter in weight and has a Gefechtshelm M92, Bundeswehr M92 helmet-style padded headband/crown pad suspension system. It retains the 3-point chin strap that was used on the previous Australian M91 helmet. The ECH has four sizes (Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large). PASGT
Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops (PASGT, pronounced ) is a combat helmet and ballistic vest that was used by the United States military from the early 1980s until the mid-2000s, when the helmet and vest were succeeded by the Lightweight Helmet (LWH), Modular Integrated Communications Helmet (MICH), and Interceptor Body Armor (IBA) respectively. Designed in the mid-1970s as a replacement for the M1 helmet and previous fragmentation vests, prototypes of the PASGT were tested in the late 1970s before being fielded in the early 1980s. In the early 2000s, the PASGT vest began being replaced by the IBA and the PASGT helmet was replaced soon thereafter with the LWH and MICH. The Modular Integrated Communications Helmet (MICH) is a U.S. combat helmet and one of several used by the U.S. military. It was developed by the United States Army Soldier Systems Center to be the next generation of protective combat helmets for use by the U.S. Army. History The MICH was originally part of a series of combat helmets designed for the U.S. Army Special Operations Command as a replacement for the PASGT helmet and the various non-ballistic skateboard, bicycle, and whitewater "bump" helmets solely within those units. The Gefechtshelm M92 (or Gefechtshelm Schuberth B826) is the standard issue combat helmet of the ''Bundeswehr'', first fielded in 1992 as a replacement of earlier M1956 steel helmets that were previously used during the Cold War. It is made from Aramid composite materials and is used by all branches of the Bundeswehr. History The Federal Office of Defense Technology and Procurement (''Bundesamt für Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung'') commissioned the Federal Ministry of Defence to investigate new helmet concepts at the end of the 1960s. The Special Tactics Group (STG) is the full-time police tactical unit of the New Zealand Police. The STG replaced the Anti-Terrorist Squad which was predominantly military personnel and was established to respond to high-risk situations which are beyond the scope or capacity of everyday policing.
