England National Under-20 Rugby Union Team
The England Under 20 rugby team are the newest representative rugby union team from England. They replace the two former age grade teams Under 19s and Under 21s. They compete in the annual Six Nations Under 20s Championship and World Rugby Under 20 Championship. The head coach of the team is Alan Dickens. World Rugby Under 20 Championship Their first tournament was the 2008 IRB Junior World Championship, in which they took second place, being defeated by New Zealand 3–38 in the final. The following year saw England finish runners up to New Zealand again at the 2009 IRB Junior World Championship. At the 2010 IRB Junior World Championship, they reached the semi-finals after winning all of their pool stage games against Argentina, Ireland and France. Twickenham Stadium () in Twickenham, south-west London, England, is a rugby union stadium owned by the Rugby Football Union (RFU), English rugby union governing body, which has its headquarters there. Alan Dickens (rugby Union)
Alan Dickens (born 2 April 1976 in Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley, Knowsley) is a retired rugby union footballer who last played at Rugby union positions#9. Scrum-half, scrum half for Northampton Saints, having previously represented Saracens F.C., Saracens, Sale Sharks and Leeds Carnegie after experience in the national leagues with Manchester Rugby Club and Stourbridge R.F.C. He also spent a period during his Saracens career, coaching boys from Merchant Taylors School. The 2015 World Rugby Under 20 Championship was the eighth annual international rugby union competition for Under 20 national teams. The event was organised for the second time in Italy by rugby's governing body, World Rugby. Twelve nations played in the tournament, with matches hosted by Parma, Viadana, Calvisano and Cremona, host city of the final match. England went into the tournament as the two-time defending champions after they successfully defended their title in the 2014 IRB Junior World Championship (as the tournament was known through 2014). This was the first U20 Championship held after the sport's governing body changed its name from the International Rugby Board to the current World Rugby. Sam Hill (rugby Union)
Sam Hill (born 1 July 1993) is a rugby union player for Sale Sharks in the Premiership Rugby. He made his Premiership debut against Wasps playing for Exeter Chiefs on 28 January 2012 and he plays as a centre. Club career Hill attended Cheriton Bishop Primary School before moving on to Queen Elizabeths Community College in Crediton. Having played for Crediton RFC until the age of 15, Sam gained selection for England under 16s and moved to Ivybridge College sixth form for two years. Hill spent the early years of his professional career dual-registered with Cornish Pirates to aid his player development. Hill has been a regular for England juniors going back to his try scoring debut against the Namibia invitational XV. Jack Nowell
Jack Thomas Nowell (born 11 April 1993) is an English professional rugby union player for Premiership side Exeter Chiefs. He also represents England. His position of choice is wing but he can also play as a Full-Back or Outside Centre. Exeter Chiefs Nowell was originally a product of the Cornish Pirates junior section. He went to school at Mounts Bay Academy, Heamoor and then Truro College, where he took a BTEC in Sport Performance and Excellence. On 25 November 2012 he made his Premiership debut for Exeter Chiefs in a 27–23 win over London Irish. The 2011 IRB Junior World Championship was the fourth annual international rugby union competition for Under 20 national teams, this competition replaced the now defunct under 19 and under 21 world championships. The South Africa national under-20 rugby union team (nicknamed the Junior Boks or the Baby Boks) are South Africa's junior team at national level. The Junior Wallabies is the national under-20 team that represents Australia playing rugby union. The team has been competing at the annual World Rugby U20 Championship since it began in 2008, replacing the previously held under-19 and under-21 championships.
