Radio broadcasting is transmission of audio (sound), sometimes with related metadata, by radio waves to radio receivers belonging to a public audience. Energy FM was a privately owned radio station that broadcast from studios in New Plymouth, New Zealand. The station began life as a series of short term summer broadcasts during the mid-1980s until it secured a full-time license to broadcast on 93.2 MHz in late 1987. The station was set up by politician Steven Joyce who sold it to form RadioWorks a few years later.
