Energies For Italy
Energies for Italy ( it, Energie per l'Italia, EpI) was a political party in Italy, launched in November 2016 and officially established on 1 April 2017. Its leader is Stefano Parisi, a former director-general of Confindustria and CEO of Fastweb, who was an unsuccessful candidate for mayor in the 2016 Milan municipal election. History In the run-up of the 2016 Milan municipal election, Stefano Parisi was selected by Silvio Berlusconi as the candidate for mayor for Forza Italia (FI). In the election, Parisi pulled the party to 20.2%, but however narrowly lost to his Democratic opponent, Giuseppe Sala, in the run-off. After asking Parisi to reform the party, in November Berlusconi disowned him, due to his difficult political relationship with the party's major ally, Lega Nord (LN). Stefano Parisi (Rome, 12 November 1956) is an Italian businessman and politician, General Secretary of Confindustria for 4 years and founder of Energies for Italy, a political party member of the centre-right coalition. Biography Origins and personal life Parisi was born in Rome, but lives in Milan since 1997 with his wife and two daughters. Career In the 1970s during his studying he worked as a ''Vice-Secretary of the Socialist University's nucleus'' of his city. After graduating from the University ''Sapienza Università di Roma'' in Economics and Commerce, he began working at the CGIL study office, and always kept on a socialist level. Lega Nord
Lega Nord (; acronym: LN), whose complete name is (), is a right-wing, federalist, populist and conservative political party in Italy. In the run-up of the 2018 general election, the party was rebranded as (), without changing its official name. The party was nonetheless frequently referred to only as "Lega" even before the rebranding, and informally as the (). The party's latest elected leader was Matteo Salvini. Giovanni Negri
Giovanni Negri (born 16 May 1957) is an Italian politician. Born in Turin and a member of the Radical Party (PR), he was the party's secretary from 1984 to 1988, with it dissolving soon after. He was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1983 by his city's constituency. He resigned in July 1984 and was replaced by Franco Roccella. He was re-elected again to serve from 1987 to 1992. Civic Choice
Civic Choice ( it, Scelta Civica; SC) was a centrist and liberal political party in Italy founded by Mario Monti. The party was formed in the run-up of the 2013 general election to support the outgoing Prime Minister Monti and continue his political agenda. In the election SC was part of a centrist coalition named With Monti for Italy, along with Union of the Centre of Pier Ferdinando Casini and Future and Freedom of Gianfranco Fini. In April 2013, SC became part of the grand coalition government led by Enrico Letta of the Democratic Party.
