He is best remembered for his only leading role, a chilling portrayal of strangler Harry "Cueball" Lake in ''Dick Tracy vs. Cueball'' (1946), and for his appearances as comic villains opposite The Three Stooges. Biography Wessel was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His burly frame established him as a character player in feature films of the 1930s and '40s. Early years Seay demonstrated an interest in acting at an early age, as he and his mother regularly attended Saturday matinees of a stock theater company in Pasadena, California. Felix Basch (1885–1944) was an American-Austrian actor, screenwriter and film director. He first acted in Vienna, and he was a producer and director for the German film production company UFA GmbH, U. F. A. Following the Nazi takeover of power in Germany in 1933, the Jewish Basch was forced out of films and went into exile, moving to the United States where he appeared in a large number of films acting in character actor, character roles.
