Enda Caldwell
Enda Caldwell is an Irish radio personality and voice actor. As of 2022, he was the "drivetime host" at New York's EDM station, Pulse 87. Caldwell has also worked at radio stations elsewhere in the world, including the DRM station Radio Luxembourg, Riviera Radio, Today FM and Atlantic 252. Career Originally from Navan in Ireland, Caldwell's media career began at Atlantic 252 as an assistant to Tony West. His broadcasting career began with a Louth-based pirate radio station, Kiss FM, in Dundalk. In 1999 he worked at Radio Limerick One. Caldwell later worked at Tipp FM in County Tipperary, WLR FM in Waterford, and South East Radio in Wexford, before moving to Kiss 106 in Northern Ireland. He was an extra (a hospital porter) in the film Angela's Ashes, which was released in 1999. In February 2000, Caldwell was hired as the overnight presenter with the newly relaunched Atlantic 252. Pulse 87
Pulse 87 is an online radio station with an EDM music format. It started out as the audio feed of a channel-6 “Franken-FM” television station in New York City, audible on traditional FM radios at 87.7, before moving solely to streaming online. History The brand was formerly owned and operated by Mega Media, which they operated under a leasing deal with WNYZ-LP, Broadcasting at 87.7 (channel 6), with plans to expand the format to other cities only to incur financial losses and disputes over their business arrangements, leading up to the station's demise in 2009. In February 2010, the format was resurrected as an online non-profit internet station under new management following the bankruptcy and liquidation of its former owner. Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM; ''mondiale'' being Italian and French for "worldwide") is a set of digital audio broadcasting technologies designed to work over the bands currently used for analogue radio broadcasting including AM broadcasting—particularly shortwave—and FM broadcasting. DRM is more spectrally efficient than AM and FM, allowing more stations, at higher quality, into a given amount of bandwidth, using xHE-AAC audio coding format. Various other MPEG-4 and Opus codecs are also compatible, but the standard now specifies xHE-AAC. Digital Radio Mondiale is also the name of the international non-profit consortium that has designed the platform and is now promoting its introduction.
