Enchanters Three
The Enchanters Three are fictional characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The Enchanters Three first appear in Thor #143-144 (Aug.-Sept. 1967), and were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Publication history The group first appeared in Thor #143-145 (Aug.-Oct.1967), and did not appear in Marvel continuity again (on this occasion with a new member) until thirty one years later in ''Thor'' vol. 2 #15-19 (Sept. 1999-Jan. 2000). Fictional character biography The Enchanters are apparently brothers and hail from the realm of Ringsfjord, which exists on the extra-dimensional continent of Asgard. The original three Enchanters are Forsung, Brona and Magnir, sorcerers whose power is amplified by the Living Talismans in their possession. Brona and Magnir are first encountered by the Asgardian warriors Balder and Sif, who follow the pair and decide to conquer Asgard and then Earth. Enchanters (Detroit Doo-wop Band)
The Enchanters were an American vocal group based in Detroit, Michigan. They produced several local hit records in the doo-wop genre during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Decades later, some of their songs have been re-released on Christmas music, Christmas and doo-wop compilations. Garnet Mimms
Garnet Mimms (born Garrett Mimms, November 16, 1933) is an American singer, influential in soul music and rhythm and blues. He first achieved success as the lead singer of Garnet Mimms & The Enchanters, and is best known for the 1963 hit " Cry Baby", later recorded by Janis Joplin. According to Steve Huey at AllMusic, his "pleading, gospel-derived intensity made him one of the earliest true soul singers ndhis legacy remains criminally underappreciated." Biography Born in Ashland, West Virginia, United States, Mimms grew up in Philadelphia, where he sang in church choirs and in gospel groups such as the Evening Stars and the Harmonizing Four. Billy Butler (singer)
Billy Butler (born William E. Butler; June 7, 1945 – March 31, 2015) was an American soul singer and songwriter active in the 1960s and 1970s. He was born in Chicago, Illinois. His elder brother, Jerry, was also a singer and songwriter for whose band Billy played the guitar. Career Billy Butler formed the vocal group the Enchanters while at high school. He first recorded for Okeh Records in 1963, and was produced initially by Curtis Mayfield and later by Carl Davis. On early recordings he was backed by the Chanters, a renamed version of the Enchanters; other members were Errol Batts and Jesse Tillman. His first and biggest hit was 1965's "I Can't Work No Longer", which reached #6 on the U.S. ''Billboard'' R&B Singles chart and #60 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100.
