Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. This makes them shorter than most other television series, but still much longer than a miniseries. Suzanne Ellen Rose Alexander-Katz Kauffmann (born 3 July 1943), commonly known as Susana Alexander, is a Mexican actress, hostess, director, producer, translator, teacher and dancer. Early life Alexander was born in Mexico City, the daughter of Alfredo Alexander-Katz and Brígida Kauffmann Rosenstein, German Jewish immigrants who left Europe during World War II. María Esperanza Jacqueline Andere-Aguilar (born August 20, 1938) is a Mexican actress. Life and career Andere was born in a Jewish family located Mexico City on August 20 1938. Her appearances in telenovelas began with 1960's '' Vida por Vida'', and one of her major roles as a villainess was in '' La Madrastra'' opposite Victoria Ruffo and ''Peregrina''. Amparo Arozamena (August 24, 1916 – April 30, 2009) was a Mexican actress of film and television, best known for her character roles in the 1960s. During the same decade, she became most noted for her role of "Doña Chole" in the Telesistema Mexicano sitcom ''Los Beverly de Peralvillo'' (1968–1973). Marissa Garrido Arozamena (May 30, 1926 – January 8, 2021) was a Mexican telenovela playwright and writer who was most active in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. She wrote forty-five adaptations and sixty-five original stories for television. Her most successful creation was ''La leona'' in 1961.
