''En Uyir Nee Thaane'' () is a 1998 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film, directed by S. P. Rajkumar. The film stars Prabhu and Devayani. It is a remake of Telugu film ''Pellichesukundam''. The film released on 19 October 1998 to mixed reviews. Plot Vasu (Prabhu) is a rich industrialist who raises his father's illegitimate son after the death of its mother. His father opposes this. Vasu leaves home to live alone with the child. Janaki ( Devayani) witnesses a murder and testifies against the murderer. He is convicted. The murderer's brother rapes Janaki in revenge, and Janaki is kicked out of her house by her brother. She goes to her friend's house, but even there, she is kicked out. Vasu comes to her rescue. Janaki becomes a mother for Vasu's illegitimate brother and manager in Vasu's mill. Vasu is drawn towards her and wants to marry her. She turns him down, believing he is doing so out of sympathy. Prabhu (actor)
Prabhu Ganesan (born 25 December 1956), known professionally as Prabhu, is an Indian actor, businessman and film producer who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. He is the son of veteran actor Sivaji Ganesan. He is popularly known as ''Ilaya Thilagam''. He has worked in more than 215 films in lead and supporting roles in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films. Harini (born 30 April 1979) is an Indian film playback singer and classical singer who sings in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada films, working with many leading film composers. She is married to another playback singer, Tippu. Harini learnt Carnatic music from Gowri and Radha Viswanathan from the age of four. In her later years, she learned from Sudha Raghunathan and currently from Suguna Purushotthaman. She used to participate in school competitions and in one such competition which she won, A. R.
