Employee Of The Month EP
''Employee of the Month EP'' is the third EP released by Relient K. Tracks 1 and 2 are from the band's subsequent third album, '' Two Lefts Don't Make a Right...but Three Do''. Track 6 is from the band's second album, ''The Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek''. The packaging depicts each member of Relient K as an employee of the month. Matt Thiessen, Matt Hoopes, Dave Douglas and Brian Pittman for May, June, July and August accordingly. The album cover shows Aaron Marrs, a friend of the band, as the Employee of the Month for September. Marrs was a part of the design and/or layout of many of the album covers for the band, including this EP's cover and the cover of '' Two Lefts Don't Make a Right...but Three Do.'' He passed K away in January 2005, and therefore, Relient K dedicated the ''Apathetic EP to him.'' Relient K
Relient K is an American rock band formed in 1998 in Canton, Ohio, by Matt Thiessen, Matt Hoopes, and Brian Pittman Board Message during the band members' third year in high school and their time at Malone University. The band is named after guitarist Hoopes' automobile, a Plymouth Reliant K car, with the spelling intentionally altered to avoid trademark infringement over the ''Reliant'' name. The group is known for its Christian rock, alternative Christian rock, and contemporary Christian music. The group is associated with the contemporary Christian music culture, most notably the Christian rock and punk scene. The group has also performed alongside secular artists. Christian Pop Punk
Christian punk is a form of Christian music and a subgenre of punk rock which contain Christian lyrical content. Pop Punk
Pop punk (or punk pop) is a rock music genre that combines elements of punk rock with power pop or pop. Gotee Records
Gotee Records is a record label founded by Christian hip hop performer Toby McKeehan (known professionally as ''TobyMac''), Todd Collins, and Joey Elwood. The label began as a production company. At the time of the label's founding, McKeehan was a member of dc Talk. Formation of Gotee McKeehan and Collins intended to produce Out of Eden's ''Lovin' the Day'', but they couldn't find a label to sign the act to, and so formed Gotee Records and began distributing the band's material on their own. The label was a part of EMI Christian Music Group. However, they bought back EMI's minority share to become fully independent again as of March 31, 2008. Toby McKeehan is currently the president of the company and as of 2009, the label is currently distributed by Warner Bros. Records. Mark Lee Townsend
Mark Lee Townsend is an American multi-instrumentalist and record producer best known as guitarist for the Christian rock band dc Talk and as the long-time producer for Christian rock band Relient K. Townsend's career started as a member, singer, guitarist and songwriter for the pop and Christian band Bash 'N The Code from 1986 through 1991. He played with dcTalk from 1996 until their hiatus in 2001. In between dcTalk tours, he was a lead guitarist for the Christian artist Jennifer Knapp. He creatively added more life to her already well-written songs. At the Cornerstone Festival 2000, he appeared doing an acoustic act where he ended his show with a rendition of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody". During his time with dcTalk, he and other members of the band formed the band, Zilch, which would become the band Sonicflood, and made the album "Platinum" for Gotee Records. Two Lefts Don't Make A Right
''Two Lefts Don't Make a Right...but Three Do'' (often called ''Two Lefts'') is the third full-length album released by Christian rock band Relient K. The album was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Gospel Album, but the award that year ended up being won by ''Worldwide'' by Audio Adrenaline. This album was initially released with four different covers, each one depicting a separate car wreck. In November 2003, a fifth cover was released, which showed all four cars in a junkyard. That is now the only version of the CD still in print, although a very small amount the four original covers can still be found. It was also released as a combo pack with ''Deck the Halls, Bruise Your Hand'' for a few years around Christmas time. The album peaked at No. 38 on the ''Billboard'' 200. ''Apathetic EP'' is the fifth EP released by Relient K. It was released on November 8, 2005, and was initially packaged with copies of '' Mmhmm'', but is also available separately. Matthew Arnold Thiessen (born August 12, 1980) is a Canadian-American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer known for being co-founder, lead singer, guitarist, pianist, and primary songwriter for the Christian rock band Relient K. With Relient K, he has released eight full-length albums, including three that were certified Gold, and three that peaked in the top twenty on the ''Billboard'' 200. Matthew "Matt" Ryan Hoopes is an American musician, guitarist, singer, and songwriter, most known as the lead guitarist of Relient K. Hoopes has played lead guitar and provided backing vocals for Relient K since 1998 and is one of two constant members of the band, the other being lead vocalist Matt Thiessen. Biography Along with Matt Thiessen and Brian Pittman, Hoopes co-founded the band during his junior year of high school at Canton McKinley High School in Canton, Ohio. He met Thiessen when they were in the Church choir together in second grade. Matt Thiessen once said in the book ''The Complex Infrastructure Known as the Female Mind'' that Hoopes and Brian Pittman were the athletes in high school, and while they were friends with Thiessen, they were also probably considered cooler than Thiessen. Brian Pittman
Brian Lee Pittman (born October 21, 1980) is an American musician most notable as the former bassist for the Christian rock band Relient K, of which he was a founding member. He has also played bass for the Christian metal band Inhale Exhale, and owns a landscaping company called Aura Concrete & Landscaping. Pittman married on August 30, 2008 and currently resides in Canal Fulton, Ohio.
