In 1945, she was transferred to the French Government and renamed ''Commandant Mantelet''. She was sold into merchant service in 1950 and renamed ''Commandant le Bilboul''. In 1954, she was sold to a Liberian company and renamed ''Monrovia'', serving until 1959 when she was in collision with another ship in Lake Huron, United States and sank. Official numbers are ship identifier numbers assigned to merchant ships by their flag state, country of registration. Each country developed its own official numbering system, some on a national and some on a port-by-port basis, and the formats have sometimes changed over time.
