''Empire, Inc.'' is a six-episode Canadian television miniseries, which aired on CBC Television in English and Télévision de Radio-Canada in French in 1983.Carole Corbeil, "Empire built on two solitudes". Douglas Jackson (filmmaker)
Douglas Jackson (born January 26, 1940) is a Canadian film and television director and producer. As a television director, he is best known for the 1983 CBC Television miniseries ''Empire, Inc.'', which he co-directed with Denys Arcand. Jackson began his film career in the 1960s on staff at the National Film Board of Canada (NFB). His NFB credits include producing Bill Mason's short documentary ''Blake (film), Blake'', which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. Peter Dvorsky (August 27, 1948 – March 2, 2019) was a Canadian actor. He was most noted for his role as Harlan in the film ''Videodrome'', for which he was a Genie Award nominee for Best Supporting Actor at the 5th Genie Awards in 1984. Gabriel Arcand (born June 4, 1949) is a Canadian actor. He is the brother of film director Denys Arcand. After studying philosophy at McGill University, Arcand spent his formative professional years at La Criée in Marseilles, France, and later in Poland where he studied theatre.
