The X-Mansion or Xavier Institute is the common name for a mansion and research institute appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The mansion is depicted as the private estate of Charles Francis Xavier, a character in X-Men comics. It serves as the base of operations and training site of the X-Men. "House of M" is a 2005 comic book storyline published by Marvel Comics, consisting of a core eight-issue comic book limited series written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Olivier Coipel and a number of crossover tie-in books. "Decimation" is a storyline published by Marvel Comics in 2005, spinning out of the events of the '' House of M'' limited series. The event started with a one-shot issue and took place in a number of various series all carrying the "Decimation" logo on the cover. The 2005 miniseries '' Generation M'', '' Sentinel Squad O*N*E'', '' X-Men: Deadly Genesis'' and '' X-Men: The 198'' were all launched specifically for the "Decimation" storyline. The various stories were collected in five trade paper backs. The storyline focuses on the ramifications of the Scarlet Witch stripping nearly all of the mutant population of their powers, thereby reducing a society of millions to one of scant hundreds.
