Emmanuel Rodríguez
Emmanuel Rodríguez Vázquez (born August 8, 1992) is a Puerto Rican professional boxer who held the IBF bantamweight title from 2018 to 2019. As an amateur he represented Puerto Rico at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics and won a gold medal in the flyweight event. As of July 2020, he is ranked as the world's fifth best active bantamweight by ''The Ring'', seventh by BoxRec, and eighth by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board. Early life Rodríguez is originally from Urbanización Villa Real near Ojo de Agua, a middle class urban sector of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. His parents are Awilda Vázquez Soler and Luis Rodríguez. Throughout his childhood he practiced other sports before choosing boxing, including one of Puerto Rico's most widespread team sports, baseball. Juan Evangelista Venegas
Juan Evangelista Venegas (December 27, 1928 – April 16, 1987) was a Puerto Rican boxer notable for winning Puerto Rico's first Olympic medal. Early years Venegas (birth name: Juan Evangelista Venegas Trinidad) was born in an underprivileged section of the town of Río Piedras. Río Piedras at the time was not incorporated into the City of San Juan, Puerto Rico. There street fighting was a common way of life and many of the youth at that time saw the sport of boxing as a way to a better life. Among them was Venegas, who admired Puerto Rico's first international boxing champion, Sixto Escobar. Venegas took up boxing and his performance in the ring soon caught the attention of the island's recently established Olympic Committee. David Enrique "Quique" Bernier Rivera (; born January 21, 1977) is a Puerto Rican dentist and politician that has served in various roles in public service in Puerto Rico. Bernier first served as executive director of the Office of Youth Affairs of Puerto Rico and was later confirmed as the youngest Secretary of Sports and Recreation of Puerto Rico in history. The 21st Central American and Caribbean Games (Spanish: ''XXI Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe, Mayagüez 2010'') took place in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, from 18 July 2010 to 1 August 2010. Jonathan González (born April 24, 1991) is a Puerto Rican professional boxer who has held the WBO junior flyweight title since 2021. As an amateur, González won gold medals at the 2008 Youth World Championships and the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games, both at flyweight. González debuted as a professional in January 2011, going on to win his first title in his ninth fight, defeating Erickson Martell to earn the interim WBO flyweight Youth title.
