Emmanuel Ibezim
Emmanuel Chinedum Ibezim is a Nigerian professor of physical pharmaceutics of the University of Nigeria. He was Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Nigeria. and, at various times, Head of Department of Pharmaceutics and Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology in the University of Nigeria as well as Head of Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Gregory University, Uturu. He is a 2023 Henri Boulard Public Health award winner for his work on "eradicating water-borne gut diseases in Nigeria; development of cheap nanosized rice husk-based zeolite water filtration candles for common household usage" Ibezim was also the recipient of the 2023 May & Baker Professional Service Award in Pharmacy. Henri Boulard was a French microbiologist who discovered the yeast ''Saccharomyces boulardii'' in 1923. He noticed people chewing on the skins of lychees and mangosteens to treat diarrhea during a cholera epidemic. May & Baker was a British chemical company founded by John May and William Gerrard Baker in Wandsworth, London in 1839. They initially specialized in the manufacture of chemicals derived from mercury and bismuth. Tertiary Education Trust Fund, abbreviated as TETFUND, is a scheme established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2011 to disburse, manage, and monitor education tax to government-owned tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The TETFUND scheme was formed as a product of the Education Tax Act of 1993. This Act repeals the Education Tax Act Cap. E4, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and Education Tax Fund Act No. 17, 2003 and establishes the Tertiary Education Trust Fund charged with the responsibility for imposing, managing and disbursing the tax to public tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
