Emile Cairess
Emile Cairess (born 27 December 1997) is a British long-distance runner. He won the bronze medal in the 10,000 metres at the 2019 European Under-23 Championships and a silver for the men's race at the 2022 European Cross Country Championships. Cairess is the European record holder for the road 10 miles. Career During the under-23 race at the 2018 European Cross Country Championships, Emile Cairess fell over at half-mile stage but managed to move up 59 places for eighth position and a team silver medal. In January 2022 at the Valencia Ibercaja, he tied Mo Farah's over 10-year-old British 10 kilometres record with his time of 27:44. 2022 European Cross Country Championships
The 2022 European Cross Country Championships was the 28th edition of the cross country running competition for European athletes. It was held on 11 December 2022 in La Mandria Park near Turin, Italy. Italy became the first country to have staged the European Cross Country Championships on four occasions after previous editions in Ferrara in 1998, San Giorgio su Legnano in 2006 and Chia in 2016. Initially Turin received the right to host the event in 2021. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic and cancellation of the 2020 championship, which was supposed to be staged by Dublin, the organizers of the Turin championship agreed to hold them in Italy in 2022, so that the 2021 event could be hosted by the Irish city. Sir Mohamed Muktar Jama Farah (born Hussein Abdi Kahin; 23 March 1983) is a British long-distance runner. His ten global championship gold medals (four Olympic and six World titles) make him the most successful male track distance runner ever, and he is the most successful British track athlete in modern Olympic Games history. London Marathon
The London Marathon is an annual marathon held in London, United Kingdom, and is the 2nd largest annual road race in the UK, after the Great North Run in Newcastle. Founded by athletes Chris Brasher and John Disley in 1981, it is typically held in April but has moved to October for 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Barrowford
Barrowford () is a large village and civil parish in the Pendle district of Lancashire, England. It is situated to the north of Nelson on the other side of the M65 motorway, and forms part of the Nelson conurbation. It also comprises the area of Lowerford (not to be confused with its neighbour Higherford). The parish has a population of 6,171. The community is located near the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty while the Borough of Pendle is at the southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Richard David Nerurkar MBE (born 6 January 1964) is a former track and field athlete from Great Britain, competing in the long-distance running events. Personal life Nerurkar was born in Wolverhampton, England, to an Indian father and English mother, he moved to Bradford, where he attended Bradford Grammar School. He has a brother and sister. He was a language teacher at Marlborough College between 1989 and 1991. Career Nerurkar won the English national cross-country championship three times and twice finished in the top 20 in the World Cross-Country Championships. On the track, he finished fifth in the 10,000 metres in the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo, and 17th in the 10,000m final of the 1992 Olympics. Jakob Ingebrigtsen (born 19 September 2000) is a Norwegian middle- and long-distance runner. The 3000 metres or 3000-metre run is a track running event, also commonly known as the "3K" or "3K run", where 7.5 laps are run around an outdoor 400 m track, or 15 laps around a 200 m indoor track. It is debated whether the 3000m should be classified as a middle-distance or long-distance event. In elite-level competition, 3000 m pace is more comparable to the pace found in the longer 5000 metres event, rather than mile pace.
