Emil Brumaru
Emil Brumaru (; 25 December 1938 – 5 January 2019) was a Romanian writer and poet. He was renowned for his erotic poetry. Early life Born in Bahmutea, Bessarabia, Brumaru studied medicine at the Faculty of Medicine in Iași before turning to poetry in 1975. Brumaru died on 5 January 2019 in Iași at the age of 80. Daniel Ioniță (born 16 January 1960) is an Australian poet and translator of Romanian origin, who has been published bilingually in both Australia and Romania. Ioniță is known for his writing, especially poetry and poetry in translation, as well as for his cultural activity leading the Australian-Romanian Academy for Culture. Early life Daniel Ioniță was born in Bucharest, Romania on January 16, 1960. Ioniță's family left Romania in 1980, initially for Austria, before settling in New Zealand (from 1981 to 1988) and finally in Australia in 1989. Șerban Nicolae Foarță (; born 8 July 1942, in Turnu Severin) is a contemporary Romanian writer. A translator, essayist, playwright, prose writer and even illustrator, he is most widely known for his poetry books. Style Described by the critic Nicolae Manolescu as "the only major mannerist of our literature", Foarță is far from imitating the imagery of Baroque/mannerist poetry, drawing cues from many other influences and often using citations, pastiches, allusions, cultural references, puns.
