Emil Nazim ogly Balayev ( az, Emil Nazim oğlu Balayev; russian: Эмиль Назим оглы Балаев; born 17 April 1994) is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Neftçi. Born in Russia, he plays for the Azerbaijan national team. He was selected as the footballer of the year in Azerbaijan in 2019. Club career As a youth player Balayev was a member of Neftçi youth system, before he was promoted to the first team in 2011. Balayev made his debut for Neftchi in an Azerbaijan Premier League match against Sumgayit in September 2012. In 2013 Balayev was sent on a season loan to Araz-Naxçıvan. Balayev moved from Neftçi to Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2014. However, he failed to make an appearance for the club and was released in June 2016. Araz-Naxçıvan PFK ( az, Araz-Naxçıvan Peşəkar Futbol Klubu) is an Azerbaijani football club based in Nakchivan. The club played in the Azerbaijan Premier League again in 2014–15 after being promoted at the end of the 2013–14 season. The club plays in the Azerbaijan First Division from 2022 to 2023 season. History The club was created in 1967 and as of 1968, it participated in Soviet First League. The club stopped its activity after collapse of Soviet Union. The UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying tournament was a football competition that was played from March 2019 to November 2020 to determine the 24 UEFA member men's national teams that advanced to the UEFA Euro 2020 final tournament, played across Europe in June and July 2021. 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games
The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games was a multinational, multi-sport event that was held in Baku, Azerbaijan from 12 to 22 May 2017. Previously the event has been held in Saudi Arabia in 2005 and Indonesia in 2013. The second event, originally scheduled to take place in October 2009 in Iran, was later rescheduled but then cancelled. The Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) is responsible for the direction and control of the Islamic Solidarity Games.
