Ian Emes
Ian Ronald Emes (born 17 August 1949) is a British artist and film director. He is known for using innovative and experimental film techniques, and for being Pink Floyd's original animator. Emes' animations have featured in major exhibitions, including Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains, Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains at the V&A (2017) and the National Film Theatre Retrospective (1980). His works have also been used in live music tours, such as Us + Them Tour, Roger Waters Us + Them (2017), David Gilmour Live at the Royal Albert Hall (2016) and Mike Oldfield concert tours, Mike Oldfield's In Concert Tour (1980). He is the winner of three British Academy Film Awards, BAFTA Awards (1994, 2009, 2011), a Palme d'Or (1979), a British Animation Award (2014), and is an Emmy Award (2017) and Academy Awards, Oscar Academy Award (1984) nominee. Rebecca Emes
Rebecca Emes (died 1830) was an English silversmith, known for her household silverware. Little is known of her life. She married the engraver and watercolour painter John Emes. In 1796 John Emes became partner in the London silversmith company of Thomas Chawner and his son Henry Chawner. The firm specialized in silver tea and coffee services. When the elder Chawner retired, Emes became sole owner and presumably he carried on his own work of creating engravings for publications while Rebecca started to work in the silversmith business. John Emes died in 1808 and Rebecca became a partner with Edward Barnard, the foreman, and Henry Chawner. The firm, which operated under the name Rebecca Emes & Edward Barnard, grew considerably during their tenure. Emes withdrew from the business in 1829. John Emes
John Emes (1762–1810) was a British engraver and water-colour painter. The etching for this is dated 1786, and as it was published in October 1789 by Emes and Elizabeth Woollett, widow of William Woollett it is possible that it was begun by Woollett. William Emes
William Emes (1729 or 1730–13 March 1803) was an English landscape gardener. Biography Details of his early life are not known but in 1756 he was appointed head gardener to Sir Nathaniel Curzon at Kedleston Hall, Derbyshire. He left this post in 1760 when Robert Adam was given responsibility for the entire management of the grounds. During his time at Kedleston he had started to alter the earlier formal nature of the park and had constructed the upper lake. Also during this time he married Mary Innocent, who was his servant and the daughter of a tailor. Thomas Emes
Thomas Emes (died 1707), known as "the prophet", was a quack doctor and millenarian who practiced as a surgeon among the poorer classes of England. In the hope of obtaining notoriety he allied himself with the Camisards.
