Ermenegilde Simete is a Wallisian politician and former member of the Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna. He served as President of the Territorial Assembly from November 2005 to April 2007. Simete is from Utufua. He was elected President of the Territorial Assembly in November 2005. He was replaced as president by Pesamino Taputai following the 2007 Wallis and Futuna Territorial Assembly election, but was elected president of the Assembly's permanent commission. Territorial Assembly Of Wallis And Futuna
The Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna (French: ''Assemblée Territoriale''; Wallisian and Futunan: ''Fono fakatelituale'') is the legislature of Wallis and Futuna. It consists of 20 members, elected for a five-year term by proportional representation in multi-seat constituencies. The Assembly sits in Mata Utu, the capital of the territory. Apeleto "Albert" Likuvalu (born 14 November 1943) is a politician from Wallis and Futuna. He ran as a socialist candidate in 2002, receiving 928 votes in the first round and coming third. In 2005 after an alliance between the socialists and centre-right parties he was elected President of the Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna. While president, he supported the '' Lavelua'', Tomasi Kulimoetoke II, in his dispute with the French colonial government; as a result France's overseas territories minister Francois Baroin refused to meet with him. He was replaced as president of the assembly in November 2005, and later served as leader of the opposition. Pesamino Taputai (born 20 March 1949) is a Wallisian politician and former member of the Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna. He was President of the Territorial Assembly twice, from April to December 2007, and from 2011 to 2012. He was first elected President of the Assembly in April 2007.
