Alexei Vyacheslavovich Emelin (Russian: Алексей Вячеславович Емелин; born 25 April 1986) is a Russian professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently playing for HC Spartak Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Emelin was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the third round, 84th overall, of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Early career Emelin spent a large portion of his career with Lada Togliatti in the Russian Superleague (RSL) before signing with Ak Bars Kazan. He was also a member of Russia's under-18 and under-20 national squads, and has also become a regular member of the senior national team, skating for both in EuroTour and the World Championships. In a Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) game in 2009, Emelin sustained a face injury during a fight with Alexander Svitov; an orbital bone shattered and had to be rebuilt with metal plate. Anatoly Emelin
Anatoly Anatolevich Emelin (russian: Анатолий Анатольевич Емелин, ); (born October 3, 1964) is a former Russian ice hockey player. He played right winger and scored 229 goals in 596 official games. After 1997-98 season, Emelin finished his player career and became a coach in HC Lada Togliatti. In 2006, he was promoted to head coach of the team. Playing career Emelin's player career started in 1982 in the team of his home region capital, Salavat Yulaev Ufa, where he was playing until 1990 (with a two-season break in SKA Sverdlovsk). After that, Anatoly accepted the invitation of newly hired Lada coach Gennadiy Tsigurov, and helped to lead his new team to the highest division of Soviet hockey. Vasily Yemelin (born 1 February 1976) is a Russian chess player. He was awarded the title Grandmaster by FIDE in 1994. Yemelin won the championship of Saint Petersburg three times, in 1993, 2002 and 2011. He participated in two Chess Olympiads, in 1994 and 1996, playing for Russia B team on both occasions. In 1994 he won the team bronze medal. Chess career Yemelin won the Rijeka Open in 2001. In February 2007, he shared first place with Evgeny Najer in the Moscow Open scoring 7½/9 points. The Emelin Theatre for the Performing Arts is a 267-seat nonprofit theater located in Mamaroneck, NY. that hosts theatre, family, bluegrass, dance, classical, jazz, rock, folk, tribute, and comedy events, plus a broad range of independent and contemporary films for the community, and is the oldest continually operated performing arts center in Westchester.
