The Embassy of Sweden in Paris is Sweden's diplomatic mission in France. Buildings Chancery In the 1910s, the chancery building was located at 58 Avenue Marceau in Paris. In the late 1930s, the chancery moved around the corner to 25 rue de Bassano and the residence was still at 58 Avenue Marceau. In the late 1960s, the chancery moved to 66 rue Boissière in the 16th arrondissement. In the 1970s, the consulate department was located at 125 Avenue des Champs-Élysées. Since 1974, the chancery and residence is located at 17 rue Barbet de Jouy at Rive Gauche in the 7th arrondissement. The embassy site was bought in 1959 by the Swedish state for 2 million Swedish krona. A Swedish architect was first hired to draw up a proposal for an embassy and ambassadorial residence. When the drawings were not accepted by the French licensing authority, it was instead a Frenchman who came up with the final proposal. Gustaf Philip Creutz
Count Gustaf Philip Creutz (; 1 May 1731 in Anjala, Finland – 30 October 1785 in Stockholm), was a Swedish statesman, diplomat and poet. Biography Creutz was born in Finland and after concluding his studies at the Royal Academy of Turku he received a post in the Privy Council Chancery at Stockholm in 1751. Here he met Count Gustaf Fredrik Gyllenborg, with whom his name is indissolubly connected. They were closely allied with Hedvig Charlotta Nordenflycht, and their works were published in common; to their own generation they seemed equal in fame, but posterity has given the palm of genius to Creutz. His greatest work is contained in the 1762 volume, the idyll of ''Atis och Camilla''; the exquisite little pastoral entitled ''Daphne'' was published at the same time, and Gyllenborg was the first to proclaim the supremacy of his friend. Carl Fredrik Scheffer
Carl Fredrik Scheffer (28 April 1715 – 27 August 1786) was a Swedish count, diplomat, privy counsellor, politician and writer. He was a Knight of the Royal Order of the Seraphim, and a Commander of the Order of the Polar Star. Life Scheffer's father Peter Scheffer was a governor. His mother was Helena Maria Ehrenstierna. He had a younger brother called Ulrik Scheffer. When he was sixteen, Carl began working in the royal office as an unpaid employee. Within a year he had begun to record the minutes of the councilors' meetings. He then left his job to travel and spent four years abroad. After returning, he became a member of the Hats party and won a seat in the Riksdag in 1738. Carl Gustaf Tessin
Count Carl Gustaf Tessin (5 September 1695 – 7 January 1770) was a Swedish Count and politician and son of architect Nicodemus Tessin the Younger and Hedvig Eleonora Stenbock. He was one of the most brilliant personages of his day, and the most prominent representative of French culture in Sweden. He was also a fine orator. Tessin's art collection became the original core of the collection of Sweden's Nationalmuseum. Life Carl Gustaf Tessin was born in Stockholm.
