Emanuele Moncini
Emanuele Moncini (born 13 October 1973 in Breno, Italy) is an Italian racing driver currently competing in the FIA GT1 World Championship for Sunred. Moncini raced in the Italian Superturismo Championship before embarking on an international career. In 1999 he raced in the Sports Racing World Cup where he won one round at Enna-Pergusa. He was vice-champion in the Italian GT Championship in 2008 and won the European Abarth 500 Trophy the following year. Moncini returned to the Italian GT Championship in 2010 and won the championship in a Villorba Corse Ferrari 430 alongside ex-Formula 1 driver Andrea Montermini, with five wins. 2011 International GT Open Season
The 2011 International GT Open season was the sixth season of the International GT Open, the grand tourer-style sports car racing founded in 2006 by the Spanish GT Sport Organización. It began on 30 April at Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari and finished on 30 October, at Circuit de Catalunya after eight double-header meetings. The season was won by JMB Racing driver Soheil Ayari, who raced on the Ferrari F458 GT2. He also won the Super GT standings. Lorenzo Bontempelli and Stefano Gattuso, who raced behind the wheel of Kessel Racing's Ferrari 430 GT3 Scuderia won the GTS class. Andrea Montermini
Andrea Montermini (born 30 May 1964) is an Italian racing driver. Career Montermini raced in Formula 3 in 1989, taking second place in the Monaco GP support race and 4th in the Italian F3 Championship. He then moved up to Formula 3000, racing for three seasons before finally taking second place in the 1992 season, winning three rounds while driving for the Il Barone Rampante team. He participated in 29 Formula One Grands Prix, debuting on 29 May 1994 for Simtek, replacing Roland Ratzenberger, who had been killed during qualifying for the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix. Montermini himself crashed heavily in practice for the 1994 Spanish Grand Prix, breaking his left heel and his right foot. He returned to Formula One the next season, with the Pacific Grand Prix team, and drove for Forti in 1996 alongside countryman Luca Badoer until the team folded. The Ferrari F430 (Type F131) is a sports car produced by the Italian automobile manufacturer Ferrari from 2004 until 2009 as a successor to the Ferrari 360. The car is an update to the 360 with exterior and performance changes. It was unveiled at the 2004 Paris Motor Show. The F430 was succeeded by the 458 which was unveiled on 28 July 2009. Enna-Pergusa
The Autodromo di Pergusa is an automobile and motorcycle circuit that encircles the only Sicilian natural lake, Pergusa Lake. The circuit is also known as Enna-Pergusa, as the lake is located near the city of Enna. Overview During the 1960s, the track hosted various sportscar events such as the Coppa Città di Enna and later in the 1970s the Coppa Florio. 2001 FIA GT Championship Season
The 2001 FIA GT Championship was the fifth season of FIA GT Championship, an auto racing series endorsed by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and organized by the Stéphane Ratel Organisation (SRO). The races featured grand touring cars divided into two categories and awarded drivers and teams championships and cups for each category. The season began on 31 March 2001 and ended on 21 October 2001 after eleven races held in Europe, and included for the first time the Spa 24 Hours as a premiere endurance event for the series. Christophe Bouchut and Jean-Philippe Belloc of France won the FIA GT Drivers' Championship, while their team Larbre Compétition-Chereau were the teams champions, both earning five race victories including at Spa. The Italian Superturismo Championship (Campionato Italiano Superturismo) is Italy's national Auto racing, motorsport series for Touring car racing, touring cars. It was established in 1987 and its drivers' title has been held by such notable drivers as 24 Hours of Le Mans, Le Mans winner Emanuele Pirro and two-time Champ Car champion Alex Zanardi. History Established in 1987 under Group A rules the series saw champions like Johnny Cecotto, Roberto Ravaglia and Nicola Larini winning the title before switching to Supertouring regulations in 1993. Breno ( Camunian: ; obsolete german: Brenn) is an Italian comune of 4,986 inhabitants in Val Camonica, province of Brescia, in Lombardy.
