Emanuel Sandhu
Emanuel Sandhu (born November 18, 1980) is a Canadian figure skater and dancer. He is the 2004 Grand Prix Final champion and a three-time Canadian national champion. Personal life Sandhu was born on November 18, 1980 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was raised in Richmond Hill, Ontario with his younger brothers Chris and Daniel. His father, Lokraj, is Indian Sikh and his mother, Enza, was born in Italy. He is fluent in English, French, and Italian. Sandhu dabbles in modeling and singing. Career Skating Sandhu began figure skating at the age of eight. A year later, he was discovered by coach Joanne McLeod who would serve as his coach for his entire career. Sandhu later relocated to Burnaby, British Columbia to continue training at the B.C. Centre of Excellence with McLeod, whom he credited as being his biggest support system. The 2004 World Figure Skating Championships were held at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund, Germany from March 22 to 28. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final (formerly Champions Series Final), often shortened to ''Grand Prix Final'' and abbreviated as ''GPF'', is a senior-level international figure skating competition. Medals are awarded in men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The 2007 World Figure Skating Championships was a senior international figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The event was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan from March 20 to 25. The 2007 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships was an international figure skating competition in the 2006–07 season. It was held at the World Arena in Colorado Springs, USA on February 7–10. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Medals table Results Men Ladies Pairs Jessica Dubé / Bryce Davison did not complete their free skating and so automatically withdrew. During a side-by-side camel spin, the two drifted too close to each other, and Davison's blade hit Dubé in the face. She was immediately taken to the hospital and underwent surgery to repair the damage. Dubé later made a complete recovery and the two were able to compete at the 2007 World Championships. 2007 Canadian Figure Skating Championships
The 2007 Canadian Figure Skating Championships took place from January 15 to 21 at the Halifax Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The event is an annual figure skating competition held by Skate Canada, the nation's figure skating governing body. Skaters competed at the senior and junior levels in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The top finishers are named to Canadian teams, which competes at the 2007 World Championships, the 2007 Four Continents Championships, and the 2007 World Junior Championships. The Rostelecom Cup (russian: Кубок Ростелекома), formerly the Cup of Russia (russian: Кубок России), is an international, senior-level figure skating competition held as part of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series since 1996. Organized by the Figure Skating Federation of Russia, it has most frequently been held in Moscow, with several editions held in Saint Petersburg and once in Sochi. The Cup of China was one of the series of six senior-level, international figure skating competitions held as part of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. The Cup of China joined the series in 2003, and was cancelled in 2022 as China enforces strict preventive measures for overseas competitors during the COVID-19 pandemic. The competitors are selected by invitation only. He is the 2007 World champion, a three-time (2004, 2007 & 2009) European champion, and the 2006–07 Grand Prix Final champion.
