Mohammad-Ja'far Pouyandeh
Mohammad Jafar Pouyandeh (also spelled Mohammad-Jafar Pooyandeh or Mohammad Jafar Poyandeh, fa, محمد جعفر پوینده) (7 June 1954 – 8 or 9 December 1998) was an Iranian writer, translator and activist. He was a member of the Iranian Writers Association, a group who had been long banned in Iran due to their objection to censorship and encouraged freedom of expression. He was most likely murdered during the Chain murders of Iran in 1998. Biography Pouyandeh worked at the Cultural Research Institute and was working on translating a book called ''Questions & Answer about Human Rights'' at the time of his death. Pouyandeh was not a well known writer, translator, or activist in Iran and he is essentially known for his unusual circumstance of death. Mohammad Mokhtari (writer)
Mohammad Mokhtari ( fa, محمد مختاری ) (April 21, 1942 – December 3, 1998) was an Iranian writer, poet and left-wing activist. He was an active member of the Iranian Writers Association, a group that had been long banned in Iran due to their objection to censorship and encouraged freedom of expression. Due to his activism, he was most likely murdered during the Chain murders of Iran in December 1998. Biography Mohammad Mokhtari was born in Mashhad. He graduated from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in 1969, majoring in Persian Language and Literature. He married in 1972 and had two sons. In 1973, Mokhtari joined the literary foundation of Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh and soon became a member of its scientific committee. From 1979 until the beginning of the Cultural Revolution, Mokhtari taught at the School of Dramatic Arts (today’s School of Cinema and Theatre) of University of Tehran. Gholamhossein Bigdeli
Gholamhossein Bigdeli,( fa, غلامحسین بیگدلی) was born on 15 March 1919 in Dorakhloo ( Zanjan). He was among Soviet Union refugees who was then arrested in suspicion of spying and sentenced to 25 years of exile in Siberia. After eight years and with the death of Joseph Stalin, he was extricated and returned to Baku where he became a well-known literary figure. Bigdeli returned to Iran in 1979 and acted as counsellor and translator in Cultural Revolution Committee. He died on 16 August 1998 in Karaj. Ghazaleh Alizadeh
Ghazaleh Alizadeh ( fa, غزاله علیزاده ); 15 February 1949 – 12 May 1996) was an Iranian poet and writer. Her mother was also a poet and writer. She married twice; she and her husband Bijan Elahi had a daughter called Salma. She also adopted two girls who were survivors of the 1961 Qazvin earthquake. Biography She was an introvert, smart, and energetic student at school. She got her diploma in Humanities from Mahasti High School and at the same time became a vegetarian. She received her BA in Political Sciences from Tehran University, then went to France to study philosophy and cinema at Sorbonne University. She initially went to Paris to pursue her PhD in law, but changed her major to illuminationism and wanted to write her dissertation on Molavi, but she left it due to the sudden death of her father. Ali-Asghar Bahari ( fa, علی‌اصغر بهاری) (b. 1905 – d. June 10, 1995) was an Iranian musician and kamancheh player. He was born in Tehran from Baharian parents and started his music lessons under his grandfather Mohammad Taghi Khan, who was a kamancheh player as well.
