Elzira de Fátima Borges Tavares Barros (born May 13, 1980 in Benguela), is a former Angolan handball player. Elzira represented Angola at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, where Angola finished 9th. She also participated in the 2009 World Women's Handball Championship in Beijing. She participated at the 2011 World Women's Handball Championship in Brazil. She is married to Angolan basketball player Mílton Barros. She last played for Angolan side Primeiro de Agosto Clube Desportivo 1º de Agosto is a multisports club from Luanda, Angola. Benguela (; Umbundu: Luombaka) is a city in western Angola, capital of Benguela Province. Benguela is one of Angola's most populous cities with a population of 555,124 in the city and 561,775 in the municipality, at the 2014 census. History Portuguese rule Benguela was founded in 1617 as ''São Felipe de Benguela'' by the Portuguese under Manuel Cerveira Pereira, 8th Governor of Angola (1604–1607). It was long the centre of an important trade, especially in slaves to Brazil and Cuba. Ships anchored about off the shore, in depths of and transferred loads to smaller boats which used five or six jetties in the town. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. Mílton Lourenço Rosa Barros (born 21 June 1984) is an Angolan professional basketball player. He is also a member of the Angola national basketball team. He is in height and 86 kg (190 pounds) in weight. Internationally, Barros has represented Angola on several occasions, including the 2006 Lusophony Games, 2006 FIBA World Championship, FIBA Africa Championship 2007, 2007 African Championship and the Basketball at the 2008 Summer Olympics, 2008 Summer Olympics.
