Elz Valley Railway
The Elz Valley Railway (German: ''Elztalbahn'') is a long, single-tracked, standard gauge branch line in the Black Forest area of the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The line branches off the Freiburg im Breisgau to Offenburg section of the Rhine Valley Railway at Denzlingen and runs up the valley of the River Elz to Waldkirch and Elzach. Whilst the track is owned by DB Netz AG, passenger services on the ''Elztalbahn'' are provided by the Breisgau S-Bahn, whose trains continue over the Upper Rhine Valley line to Freiburg Central Station. Typical service is two trains per hour from Freiburg to Waldkirch, with one train continuing to Elzach. DB Netz AG is a major subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn that owns and operates a majority of the German railway system (2019: 33,291 km). It is one of the largest railway infrastructure manager by length and transport volume of its network. The company was established in the course of the second stage of the German rail reform as a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG. Stadler Regio-Shuttle RS1
The Stadler Regio-Shuttle RS1 is the first widely used, new-generation, diesel railcar in Germany and Czech Republic for local railway services. Its most characteristic feature is the trapezium-shaped window frames. Breisgau-S-Bahn GmbH (''BSB'') was a regional railway operator in the Germany, German state of Baden-Württemberg. It was a subsidiary of Südwestdeutsche Verkehrs-Aktiengesellschaft (SWEG), a transport company owned by the state of Baden-Württemberg. The company was founded in 1995. The company operated S-Bahn services over DB Netz, DB Netz AG-owned tracks in the area around Freiburg. Freiburg–Colmar Railway
The Freiburg–Colmar railway was an international railway that formerly connected Freiburg im Breisgau, in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, with Colmar, in the French department of Haut-Rhin (région Alsace). The line crossed the river Rhine on a bridge between Breisach and Neuf-Brisach. Since that bridge was destroyed in 1945, the line from Freiburg has terminated at Breisach, and this stretch of line is now commonly called the Freiburg–Breisach railway, or the ''Breisacherbahn''. The section from Freiburg to Breisach was completed in 1871 and the remainder in 1878. Hausach
Hausach (; gsw, label= Low Alemannic, Huusä) is a town in the Ortenaukreis, in western Baden-Württemberg, Germany. History Hausach was founded in the 13th century, below Husen Castle. In the 14th century, it became a possession of the County of Fürstenberg, who gave the town its charter and maintained a residence in it. In 1806, Hausach was mediatized to the Grand Duchy of Baden. The Grand Duchy of Baden was an independent state in what is now southwestern Germany until the creation of the German Empire in 1871.
