The Elz () is a small river in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, a right tributary of the Neckar. It rises in the Odenwald. The Elz flows through Mudau, Limbach and Mosbach before reaching the Neckar in Neckarelz, a borough of Mosbach. Its length is 40 kilometres. Neckar
The Neckar () is a river in Germany, mainly flowing through the southwestern state of Baden-Württemberg, with a short section through Hesse. The Neckar is a major right tributary of the Rhine. Rising in the Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis near Schwenningen in the ''Schwenninger Moos'' conservation area at a height of above sea level, it passes through Rottweil, Rottenburg am Neckar, Kilchberg, Tübingen, Wernau, Nürtingen, Plochingen, Esslingen, Stuttgart, Ludwigsburg, Marbach, Heilbronn and Heidelberg, before discharging on average of water into the Rhine at Mannheim, at above sea level, making the Neckar its 4th largest tributary, and the 10th largest river in Germany. Odenwald
The Odenwald () is a low mountain range in the German states of Hesse, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. Mudau
Mudau is a municipality in the Neckar-Odenwald district, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. it has 4,833 inhabitants. Geography Mudau lies in the southeastern Odenwald mountains between the Neckar and Main rivers, 75 km southeast of Frankfurt am Main and 40 km northeast of Heidelberg. The area is heavily forested, resting on coloured sandstone plateaus at 285 to 576 m elevation, sloping downward to the Bauland region. Many streams originate in the area around Mudau, owing to its location on the Neckar-Main watershed; some have cut canyons as much as 200 m deep into the sandstone. Limbach, Baden-Württemberg
Limbach is a town in the district of Neckar-Odenwald-Kreis, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. History The earliest signs of human habitation in the area date to 100-150 AD. Limbach is first mentioned in the records of the Benedictine abbey at Amorbach. The settlement belonged to the abbey in the 11th century, along with five other neighboring villages. At the beginning of the 14th century, the village was sold to Eberhard von Erbach, who sold it to the Archbishop of Mainz in 1318. The castle was destroyed by farmers in 1525. From 1318 to 1803, the village belonged to the bishopric of Mainz. In 1803, it was given to the princes of Leiningen in Baden. During the middle of the 19th century, there was a famine in the Odenwald, and many of the inhabitants left. Mosbach (; South Franconian: ''Mossbach'') is a town in the north of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Rittersbach (Elztal)
Elztal is a municipality in the Neckar-Odenwald district, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is named after the valley of the river Elz. Geography The municipality Elztal is located in the southern part of the Odenwald, close to Mosbach at the B 27, B 292 and L 615. The next district cities are Heilbronn in the South and Heidelberg in the North. The local river Elz or sometimes called Elzbach is flowing through Rittersbach, Dallau and Neckarburken and ends at Neckarelz into the Neckar river.
