Elsa Saisio
Elsa Helena Saisio (born 19 July 1981) is a Finnish actress. She graduated from the Helsinki Theatre Academy in 2003./ Saisio began her professional career in Shakespeare productions already before her graduation. Her early stage roles include Julia, Ophelia, Anya in ''The Cherry Orchard'' and Cordelia in ''King Lear''. She has made several main and supporting roles in Finnish movies and frequent television appearances along with her stage career. Helsinki Theatre Academy
The Theatre Academy ( fi, Teatterikorkeakoulu, sv, Teaterhögskolan) is one of the three academies of the University of the Arts Helsinki and offers education in theatre and dance. It is Finland's largest education provider in its field and, with the exception of acting, the only one in the country. In September 2014, there were 349 students at TeaK: 315 in the bachelor and master programmes, and the remaining 34 were studying for a licentiate or doctoral degree. King Lear
''King Lear'' is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare. It is based on the mythological Leir of Britain. King Lear, in preparation for his old age, divides his power and land between two of his daughters. He becomes destitute and insane and a proscribed crux of political machinations. The first known performance of any version of Shakespeare's play was on Saint Stephen's Day in 1606. The three extant publications from which modern editors derive their texts are the 1608 quarto (Q1) and the 1619 quarto (Q2, unofficial and based on Q1) and the 1623 First Folio. The quarto versions differ significantly from the folio version. The play was often revised after the English Restoration for audiences who disliked its dark and depressing tone, but since the 19th century Shakespeare's original play has been regarded as one of his supreme achievements. Pirkko Saisio
Pirkko Helena Saisio (born 16 April 1949) is a Finnish author, actress and director. She has also written under the pen names Jukka Larsson and Eva Wein. Saisio has a broad literary output, dealing with many kinds of texts from film screenplays all the way to librettos for the ballet. Her novel ''Betoniyö'' (1981) was adapted into a feature film ''Concrete Night'' in 2013 by Pirjo Honkasalo. Saisio received her degree in acting from Suomen teatterikoulu (now Theatre Academy) in 1975 and worked there as a professor of dramaturgy in 1997 and 2001. In 1975 she won the J. H. Pirjo Irene Honkasalo (born 22 February 1947) is a Finnish film director who has also worked as a cinematographer, film editor, producer, screenwriter and actress. In 1980 she co-directed ''Flame Top'' with Pekka Lehto, with whom she worked earlier and later as well. The film was chosen for the 1981 Cannes Film Festival. In the 1990s she focused on feature documentaries such as "The Trilogy of the Sacred and the Satanic" ('' Mysterion'', ''Tanjuska and the 7 Devils'' and ''Atman''). Honkasalo returned to fiction with ''Fire-Eater'' (1998) and ''Concrete Night'' (2013), both of which were written by Pirkko Saisio.
