Elroy Maule (May 16, 1913 – April 19, 1984) was an American politician who served in the Iowa House of Representatives from the 57th district from 1957 to 1967. Iowa House Of Representatives
The Iowa House of Representatives is the lower house of the Iowa General Assembly, the upper house being the Iowa Senate. There are 100 seats in the Iowa House of Representatives, representing 100 single-member districts across the state, formed by dividing the 50 Senate districts in half. Each district has a population of approximately 30,464 . The House of Representatives meets at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. Unlike the upper house, the Iowa Senate, state House representatives serve two-year terms with the whole chamber up for re-election in even-numbered years. There are no term limits for the House. Roy Hadden
Roy Hadden (7 July 1904 – 15 December 1991) was an American politician. Roy Hadden was the fourth of five children born to parents Lewis Hadden and Maggie Hall of Jordan Township, Monona County, Iowa, on 7 July 1904. Upon graduating from Soldier High School in 1922, he left his home county to study law, first enrolling at Morningside College between 1923 and 1925, then transferring to the University of South Dakota, which he attended until 1928. Hadden then returned to run his family farm. He married Mariam Carritt in 1931. The couple raised three children on their farm in Castana. Hadden retired from farming in 1974, and his wife died on 11 January 1981. Onawa, Iowa
Onawa is a city in, and the county seat of, Monona County, Iowa, United States. The population was 2,906 at the time of the 2020 Census. It is the largest town on the Iowa side of the Missouri River between Council Bluffs and Sioux City. History Onawa was named for a character mentioned in the poem ''The Song of Hiawatha'' by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Onawa was platted in 1857, and the railway arrived to the city in 1867. The city is known for having the widest main street in the continental United States. Onawa was the site of a prisoner-of-war (POW) camp for captured German soldiers between 1944 and 1946. Historical documents indicate there were never more than 50 POWs in camp. A larger camp existed near the central Iowa town of Algona, and housed as many as 5,400 German POWs.
