Franconia Township is a township in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 13,064 at the 2010 census. History Franconia Township was founded in the late 1720s. The name means "Land Of The Franks", and most of the settlers were Germans seeking religious freedom. The Bridge in Franconia Township was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. Elroy, Texas
Elroy is a small unincorporated area, unincorporated community south of Austin, Texas, Austin in southeastern Travis County, Texas, United States. General Antonio López de Santa Anna gave modern-day Elroy to a loyal officer, who swapped it for a horse and saddle to return to Mexico. The Elroy community, also known as Driskill, Dutch Waterhole, or Hume, was established 1892, named by a local store owner after his son, Leroy. A post office opened in Elroy in 1899, with George L. Hume as postmaster. This post office was discontinued in 1902, and mail was sent to Del Valle. In 1907, Elroy had a two-teacher school, for 107 white students, and a one-teacher school for 61 black students. Elroy schools were later consolidated in 1961 with the Colorado district, which the next year became the Del Valle Independent School District. Elroy, Wisconsin
Elroy is a city in Juneau County, Wisconsin, United States, along the Baraboo River and at the east end of the Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail. The population was 1,442 at the 2010 census. History Elroy was named in 1858, supposedly after a place in Scotland. By another account, the original residents chose "LeRoy" as the name for the community and its post office, but were informed that another community in the state had that name already. Switching the first two letters was suggested and adopted. A post office called Elroy has been in operation since 1862. Elroy was for many years an important railroad hub in the area. The Baraboo Air Line Railroad reached Elroy in the 1870s. The Air Line was later acquired by the Chicago and North Western Railway and the line was pushed on to Sparta, Wisconsin.
