Arpad Elo
Arpad Emmerich Elo ( Élő Árpád Imre; August 25, 1903 – November 5, 1992) was a Hungarian-American physics professor who created the Elo rating system for two-player games such as chess. Born in Egyházaskesző, Kingdom of Hungary, he moved to the United States with his parents in 1913. He was a professor of physics at Marquette University in Milwaukee and a chess master. By the 1930s he was the strongest chess player in Milwaukee, then one of the nation's leading chess cities. He won the Wisconsin State Championship eight times, and was the 11th person inducted into the World Chess Hall of Fame. Elo died in Brookfield, Wisconsin in 5 November 1992. Simon Elo
Simon Jakob Benjamin Elo (born 8 July 1986 in Lapinjärvi) is a Finnish politician and a former Member of Parliament. He was a representative in the Finns Party until 2017 and was the leader of Finns Party Youth from 2010 to 2014. He was elected to the Parliament for Uusimaa in 2015. He has also sat in the Espoo City Council since 2012. On 13 June 2017, Elo and 19 others left the Finns Party to establish the New Alternative parliamentary group. Elo was subsequently chosen to lead the group. Later a new party was formed based on the group under the name Blue Reform. In the 2019 election, Elo run as a candidate of the Blue Reform, but was not elected. In August 2019, Elo left the Blue Reform and continues in the City Council of Espoo as an independent. Elo Viiding (pen name, Elo Vee; born 20 March 1974) is an Estonian poet and prose writer. Family Viiding is the third poet in her family. Her father, Juhan Viiding was a famous and influential poet in the 1970s. He was also an actor. Her paternal grandfather, Paul Viiding, was a poet, author and literary critic and member of Arbujad in the 1930s, and her paternal grandmother was translator Linda Viiding. Her maternal grandfather, Kaljo Kiisk, was an actor, film director and politician. Viiding's mother Riina was a music teacher. Education Viiding, inspired by her father's career as an actor and her mother's love for music, graduated from school in 1999 as an actress. She studied violin. Colmán Elo (555 – 26 September 611) was born in Glenelly, Ireland in what is now County Tyrone. He is famed in Ireland, Irish hagiography. Life Colmán was founder and first Abbot of Muckamore, and from the fact of being titled as the successor (''coarb'') of Mac Nisse of Connor, Mac Nisse, is regarded as Bishop of Connor. Colmán studied under his maternal uncle, St. Columba, who procured for him the site of a monastery now known as Lynally (Lann Elo). Hence his designation of Colmán Elo or in Latinised form, Colmanellus. Subsequently, he founded the Abbey of Muckamore, and was appointed Bishop of Connor. He is also known as St. Colmán Macusailni.
