Elna Hansson
Elna Hansson (10-08-1814 — 21-01-1891), was a Swedish cunning woman and feldsher. As a practitioner of folk medicine, she was the first woman feldsher in Sweden. Life Elna was the daughter of the cunning woman Marna Nilsdotter of Lund and was the fifth generation of cunning women in a family famous for practicing traditional medicine. Marna was the daughter of Elna Hansdotter, the daughter of Sissa Mårtensdotter, the daughter of Elna Persdotter, and the family had over 100 years of healing history when Elna started to practice. Elna became the mother of the cunning woman Johanna Maria Andersson, and the grandmother of Hedda Andersson. Elna settled in Malmö after her marriage to farm labourer Hans Månsson in 1833, and established herself as a medical practitioner. As her mother before her, she specialized in the healing of wounds and fractures. Hedda Andersson. Hedda Albertina Andersson (24 April 1861, Malmö - 7 September 1950, Lund), was a Swedish physician. She was the second female student at Lund University and the second university-educated woman physician in Sweden. Life Hedda Andersson was the daughter of a male laborer named Andersson and the cunning woman Johanna Andersson. When her father died in 1866, she moved with her mother and three siblings to her grandmother. On her mother's side, she descended from a line of medicine women, known to have practiced traditional folk medicine since at least seven generations, dating back to the 17th-century. Quackery, often synonymous with health fraud, is the promotion of fraudulent or ignorant medical practices. Oscar I (born Joseph François Oscar Bernadotte; 4 July 1799 – 8 July 1859) was King of Sweden and Norway from 8 March 1844 until his death. He was the second monarch of the House of Bernadotte. Victoria Benedictsson (March 6, 1850 in Domme – July 21, 1888) was a Swedish author. She was born as Victoria Maria Bruzelius in Domme, a village in the province of Skåne. She wrote under the pen name Ernst Ahlgren. Notable works include ''Pengar'' (1885) and ''Fru Marianne'' (1887). Biography Benedictsson grew up on a farm in Sweden. At 21 she married a 49-year-old widower from Hörby. After an illness left her bed-bound, Benedictsson turned to writing, publishing her first collection of stories, ''Från Skåne,'' in 1884.
